Binners 1 - 0 up away at Wigan after 6 minutes.
Just five points behind us as things stand - and we're 10th while Fulham are drawing with Derby.

This doesn't augur well - for a team slipping down to mid-table :(

15 point gap between us and the Seagulls. 18 goal difference in their favour too.

The top two look unassailable so it's the play-offs or nowt - looking like nowt unless something changes at management level.

Pretty much sums up how I (and I'm sure most Canaries fans) see things. I think it was the 2010-2011 season when Leeds were 21 points ahead at Xmas and not only did we overtake them, but they failed to get promoted, but there's NO way we'll get near the top of the table with AN in charge - more the opposite in fact!!!!
Edit - I see we won't be getting Big Sam, he's off to China - http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/sam-allardyce-set-return-management-9476806

DD - I' ve finally decided that unless AN goes, this WILL be my last season of having a season ticket, as I'm just not being entertained when I turn up at CR!!!!

Yep, have to agree, and I can´t say I´m totally surprised, but something also needs to change at player level. Too many of them haven´t got the right mindset for this league, imo, and are still living off their Premier League past, and until that changes, I don´t really see a management change having any effect.

The table never lies, and Brighton and Newcastle do look a class apart, and deserve to be where they are.

...and incidentally, there´s not an awful lot any manager can do, except pull his hair out, when Olivera (for example) can miss such an easy chance as he did, in the second half on Friday night, lob the keeper into an empty net, only he didn´t - probably part of the reason, to many fans chagrin, that he was later removed.

I'm sorry RBF, but I'm really starting to wonder if you're just trying to wind everyone up.

The team is AN's team, he's been the manager long enough and had enough transfer windows to get rid of the players who don't have the right mindset, ability, motivation etc. The managers job is to manage the players and the team, the clue is in the title. You can't see a management change having any effect, WTF. None of the players are shining, they can't all have the wrong mindset. We either change the manager or the whole team, but even when we bring in new players they seem to go down hill as soon as AN starts to manage them. Of course changing the manager will have an effect, we might get better or indeed worse, but to suggest that changing the manager won't have an effect of the mindset of the players or the team is crazy.

No question of winding up cc. Perhaps I should have been more precise then - ´until that changes, I don´t really see a management change having any positive effect´- how´s that, any clearer?

That doesn´t mean that I necessarily think Neil is doing enough to keep his job, but the problems certainly run an awful lot deeper than just the removing of him, will solve.

Well this is the 3rd manager that hasn't really worked out in the long run, so although the manager has to take the majority of the blame, I do also think the players have to take some responsibility as well.

Utter lunacy to be signing a 32 year old player on the way down for such wages. Ultimately I guess they need to up the quality of the league to a point where whole teams have that sort of quality/named player and then the TV money and general interest might take off. But can any league pay those sort of wages sustainedly? Across a whole team? What is the chinese leagues end game? Challenge the major european leagues for quality and revenue?
I don't know if Wolfsberg are going to make a change, but on Fridays evidence he certainly looks destined for bigger things than HTFC. But then the game is littered with managers who had a purple patch to look like the next best and brightest only to be an Alex Neil!

So disjointed recently that a few formal introductions wouldn't go amiss!
Especially Aloevera and Jerome, who have the opposition's half all to themselves! <doh>

Yes, this story featured on an early season 'Football Focus' and I'm sure most teams would benefit from such an exercise in the wilderness and having to fend for themselves re getting water fire and food.

Interesting and perhaps a bit of a gamble on the part of Wolfsburg, perhaps thinking they could tempt him away quite easily. I think quite a few people who were unaware of him before Friday (myself included) are now impressed with the job he has done so far, and I have little doubt he will get much bigger clubs than Wolfsburg sniffing around in due course.
