Looks like the end of the road for Enrique if true, you know we wouldnt spend money on a new LB unless we knew for sure he was going.

Barton returns to big boy training, Pardew wants Erik Pieters in by weekend, Obetan to sign on Tues. thetim.es/nz3rPI (subs). #NUFC

Plus Alan Pardew will have more striker talks with #NUFC hierarchy this week.

I hope Pieters plays RB when we keep Enrique :D

Seriously though if we do keep Enrique, what do you think about playing Pieters RB instead of Simmo?

<laugh>

If he's as good as his celebration he'll be a legend!!

How do you know we wont keep Enrique? And you can play left footed right backs mate.

Come on man, take your head out the sand. Enrique wants to go to Liverpool, Liverpool want to sign him and we wont stand in his way when they do bid. Left footed right backs are rarely necessary and rarely effective.

Who the **** said Enrique wanted to go to Liverpool? He never said it. He said he wants CL football and to win things, Liverpool aren't even in Europe.

I'd would be better if he stayed here for one more season and then Liverpool can have him on a free next season.

Been told by a pretty reliable source within the club on Friday that two players would be coming in before Arsenal and one was a left back. As obertan seems to be imminent he seems to be fairly accurate.

He knows Liverpool are the only club who want him and it's common knowledge he wants to leave. Ashley wouldnt let Pardew chase another left back if there was any chance of Enrique staying.

It's pre-cautionary i would imagine. They obviously haven't received an offer good enough to accept, but just in case they do get a good offer in, they will need a LB now instead of panic buying one if Enrique is sold last second of the transfer window.

He can still stay.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

If a Champions League club was in the market for a LB, we'd have heard about them by now. Similarly, if he wanted to stay at the club, he'd have said that by now too. The fact is, he's posturing for a good move, but you wait long enough for one, you realise you've lost the spot you've already had. The time for playing "Should I stay, or should I go now" has passed for all parties involved

If Pardew really is going after this Pieters guy, then Enrique is gone. Simple as that.

This all supports the fact that a decision should have been made months ago that Enrique would be sold early in the transfer window or not sold at all.
