Norwich City vs Huddersfield Town

I have a bad feeling about this game. We may have won 2 of our last 3 both of which were at home and also have important players like Howson and Pinto fit again, but Huddersfiled are above us and that means top half of the table. We do not seem to fair well against sides in the top half. Hopefully time to undo that hoodoo.
Their recent form is very similar to our own, looking back over the form table over the last 10 matches showing 3 wins each, but Huddersfield edging it with 2 draws to our 1. They will be confident coming off of the back of back to back wins that they can take some points back to west Yorkshire.

Some thoughts on the game from their matchday thread on ja606

Saturday 8th November 1969……….
The last time Town won at Norwich… Bloomin eck, we might actually be someones bogie team!

We have a woeful record over the years, 5-0 two seasons ago, 3-0 the season before that… a heavy 5-0 loss in 1998 that I attended…
The point is we owe them at Carrow Road..
Recent form (latest last)
Norwich : LLLWLW
Town : DLLDWW
We have both had similar seasons, starting like a bang… tailing off, both showing signs of recovery, ( Norwich winning their last 2 home games ).
A great result at Burton on Tuesday, got a bit lucky, but hey, we haven’t had luck at all this season.
Keep tight, get their crowd frustrated, pinch another win or at least don’t get beat…
Alex Neil has to be beaten, he’s an idiot and shows no respect for his opponents. So we are not the only fans who think he's an idiot, even if for different reasons!

On the Radio L**ds HTFC hour last night it said we had sold over 17,000 already for the forest game, beat Norwich & we’ll come close to the record ( gate ) we set against Wednesday .
We also owe Sky a performance.. 2 losses both at home, yet out home form is impressive barring those results..
Big 2 weeks coming up before the cup game with Port Vale…
10 points from 12 would do nicely….
Dare to dream…
Prediction…
A plucky draw.. 1-1.
Merry Christmas
UTT

That's was about as positive as it gets with other comments as follows:
3-0 defeat in front of the sky cameras.
Obligatory 1 for sh¡ts and giggles

and
It has to change sometime..
and
Yeah I can't see us getting owt tomorrow, but I'd have taken 6pts out of 9 this week so tomorrow is a free hit.
Keep them out for half hour and we've got a chance. Concede early and it'll be another gubbing.
4-0 Norwich

but a bit of fight in this one
I know what you mean champers, but I don't see it as a free hit, score first & the crowd turn against Neal.... point minimum.

After two positive home wins against teams in the lower half we face one in the top half and for that reason my prediction is:

City 1 2 Terriers

Both Basil and Jerome to start would be a
great and brave call from AN.
Murphy needs a rest,so why not?

Only 1 of Huddersfield's last 6 games was a top half team (Brum) and 4 of the others were bottom 6 sides. Four of those were at home and the others away, whereas 4 of our last 6 games were against top half teams (when we played them) and only 3 were at home. Much will depend on whether our players come out with the determination and commitment they showed against Villa and the first goal will be huge. Same line-up as last time for me.

You don't expect AN to be brave do you Bure budgie? I think that one thing is for sure - we will witness an unpredicable team who will have decided if they are going to play to their potential before they get on the pitch.

For those without access to SKY TV, both cricfree and feed2all have streams of tonight's match. I used the cricfree Sky Sports 1 link on Tuesday and it was very good.

Just Google the name and choose the football stream link, deleting or ignoring all the adds or warnings.

I've given up going on the pre Xmas CAMRA 'pub crawl' for tonight's game, so hope it's worth it!! <laugh>
