Firstly exiled Saint here watching the Saints from Spain. I love the forum. I think its surpassed the original 606 forum. With the deal with Oxlade-Chamberlain done and dusted and 7 to 12 million up front with 3 to 8 million add on fees and a 40% add on fee I was wondering if Nicola Cortese is the best Chairman in English football. After getting an unbelieveable deal for a kid who has never played league football above the 3rd division he has also told the local paper, Matt Le Tissier and Lawrie Mac to get stuffed and mind their own business in almost the same sentence and not only got away with but had most Saints fans backing him. Honestly I'm not one for bandwagon jumping but after about 25 years of supporting Saints I've never known anyone like being associated with our club. As they say in Spain "Que cojones tiene!!!"
see i like cortese, but he does some pretty stupid decisions that really annoy - like telling le tiss etc to piss off pretty much, banning photos, putting unecessary pressure on the team and then does some relly good deciions - appointing adkins, getting rid of chambo, new training ground he's still a mixed bag for me personally, sorry but I don't get all the praise for him sometimes
He hasn't put any pressure on the team - there's always going to be pressure because we have spent money and have a 5 year plan which is realistc. He hasn't told Le Tiss and Lawrie Mac to piss off, obviously there is slight tension between them but most of it fuelled by the media. Im very glad we have Cortese at the helm and hope it stays that way for years to come!
