The new chief executive just speaking on SSN stated that little or no funds for transfers will be available in the January window...
Looks like we will have to sell before we can buy..

I think selling the likes of Pickford and Kone in order to buy a few new players, in January, feels like relegation time to me. I'd rather keep them and see how we do with the current squad which will be improved when we have fewer injuries which must happen at some point.

    Stick or twist?

If you get £18m for Kone rip their arms out of their sockets.

Were going to be losing Kone for about 6weeks anyway so i wouldnt lose sleep if we cashed in on him.

If we get 18 million for Kone we could spend 9 million on a half decent back and a half decent centre mid. That would arguably improve us. Doubt we'll have another January window like the last one. No matter what happens, I'm not sure we're getting out of it this time.

It's in the echo as well.

Despite losing (how many) players in the summer when we were near the FFP wage cap and bringing in half as many, probably on relatively low wages like Love and McNair, we are still near the FFP wage cap.
    No, me neither.

He says something like he's not expecting to sell, he's not saying he WILL NOT sell so goodbye JP and LK.

January will be interesting. Who will come in to join our huge squad on massive wages. Any good benchwarmers in the championship or 1/2?

Listening to the radio, apparently Kone has a £25 mil. Buyout clause. From Bains statement,I take that to mean that "little to no money " will actually be NO money. Think he will take whatever he can get for ANY player. Just my own opinion, but I think this will be the time that Short screws us over, takes the money and exits stage left.

I don't think we paid much for Kone so 18 mil would be good business for us.

My concern is that if we did sell him, that 18 mil wouldn't have been enough to sign both NDong and Djillibodji (guessing spelling) and even if it did, getting players of their calibre to replace Kone wouldn't leave us any better off. It's a gamble that I'd rather not take.

I think I'd try to trim the deadwood from the squad as much as possible, beg Short for a little bit of cash and keep the core of the side the same.

We've seen we're good enough to stay up with the current (injury riddled) squad, replacing good reliable players with most likely bang average players isn't going to help.

    Smalling and Fellaini, for £18m.

Moyes loves shopping at Old Trafford mega store.

I'd have that like. Both good solid players and Smalling on a par with Kone I'd say.

Pretty much yeah, young players who actually want to be at the club who are willing to drop a league and not cry about it.
