I thought that us having a wage cap was a good at first but now with 1 day in the transfer window left we have not managed to add anyone to are squad. Also it is going to be harder for us to keep players when they can get double else where. If we ever want to be in europe again we need to get rid of it, but not do stupid buys like we have done.
To be honest I'm a fan of the wage cap, it stops us getting back into debt and we no longer seem to attract mecenaries who simply come because they know we will pay big. Everyone in the team is here to play for the team at the moment which is something we havent had in a fair while, theres still time yet, we might get people in (Ireland looking like a done deal)
You have to look at the club's finances to understand the wage cap. We just have to face that we will now have to start looking at younger players that demand a lower wage. The mistake our club made under the FS regime was handing out stupid contracts and overpaying players e.g. Geremi in the CCC.
I am all in favour in not paying over the top wages but i belive are wage cap is 40k. And alot of players in the prem will not play for that, i think that 60k would be more realistic. We need experience as well as young players.
I can't see another club paying Seb Larsson ÃÆÃââââ¬à ¡ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã100k per week mate. The wage cap is necessary, if players like Barton, Carroll and Ben Arfa have agreed to it anyone demanding more is demanding too much.
