That's probably a factor, but another important factor will be that he's insanely quick and really good at taking defenders on. He probably gives the England squad something it's missing, which I'm not sure Lambert would.
Fair enough, but IMO he's been called up too early. Last season he was very inconsistent and although he's had a great start to the season, his crossing needs to improve. Last season his final ball was dreadful half the time.
Zaha has already said he didn't even say he was better then everyone apart from Messi and Ronaldo. He said his words were twisted and he'll learn from what happened in his first ever big interview. Maybe not as big headed as some people think?.
More to do with of type and longevity of player that Hodgson wants. Lambert wasn't/isn't it, it appears.
He's come out and tweeted: "My words were absolutely twisted and taken the wrong way in my last interview. But I will learn from this and explain in further detail what I mean when I make certain statements." So I wouldn't say he's arrogant or that you should take what you read in the papers as gospel.
In isolation, I imagine GDP's words appear arrogant. But they may have been provoked by actions by Zaha prior to the exchange. After all, if I accuse someone of being a sadistic killer of people, that's a wee bit unreasonable. If I accuse Adolf Hitler of the action, then you can understand why.
never really seen him play, when we were linked with him alot of people on here said 7million was way too much as all he does is run around quickly with little end product. So has he improved that much in 4 months or did we miss out on a diamond?I seemto remember people saying Clyne was crap as well- too short and poor at defending
I've watched a few of Palace's games this year, and his final product hasn't got much better. He looks so exciting when he's on the ball, then most of the time it just seems to break down, probably because he is quite selfish on the ball. I think he could do with being a small fish in a big pond, so a move to a big club would probably do him some favours.
"Zaha has already said he didn't even say he was better then everyone apart from Messi and Ronaldo. He said his words were twisted and he'll learn from what happened in his first ever big interview. Maybe not as big headed as some people think?" Or maybe he did say it and realises what a **** he's made himself look and is now trying to retract. I'll reserve my judgement on his ability till tomorrow, after all what manager wouldn't select the third best player in the world to start.
