My eyebrow went up at that initially, but then I suspect it could have to do with the 'domino effect' he was talking about. It could also be related to our current crisis at CM. If the Karacan trial works out, it will leave more money available for a LB and elsewhere. We've been linked with 3 LBs, but which one will come in could depend on factors like that.
IMO, it depends on whether Brady leaves. If he does, then we'll need a similar quality replacement for Olsson as well as another as back-up. I liked the possibility of Zeegelaar (having learned to spell his name!), but that's looking less likely now. From the rumours so far, I'd prefer the more experienced and more versatile Meredith from Bradford, who at 28 should be able to slot in straightaway. If Brady leaves, then the 23 year old (whose name I haven't learned to spell) could provide a useful back-up and competition as well.
No he's 26 and a CB, GE. The 23 year-old is from Fleetwood and something like Amari'i, which is slightly trickier.
FA Youth Cup tonight, 2-0 down already to Spurs. Perhaps I've just not been as in touch with our youth side as I usually am, but it's odd for me to recognise so few names, and (I'm probably wrong but) nobody stands out as a recent addition? Hale-Brown; Aarons, Wallis (c), Odusina, Syme; Sambu, McIntosh; Spyrou, Hlynsson, Middleton; Ashley-Seal. Edit: Hlynsson was a January addition.
Middleton and Ashley-Seal came on as subs when we played Villa under 23s a few weeks ago and I was very impressed with the Middleton. He really likes to run at defenders and looks to have good strength for such a young player. Just read the updates on the EDP website and it seems like we're really 'under the cosh'.
Hlynsson, Middleton and Ashley-Seal are the only names familiar to me as well. All 3 of those seem to me to have potential, but I know little of the others.
Not good news http://www.canaries.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/dmitri-halajko-norwich-city-3553996.aspx
I thought he was doing a good job with the under 21s/23s. Let's hope the players give him a good end to time at NCFC by beating Villa on Monday. Promotion for Neeeyull???
Thought I'd resurrect this after the U23s' 5-0 defeat over Wolves U23s last night in the Premier League Cup. Todd Cantwell scored a hat-trick . We'll find out on Monday if City have won Group D when Portsmouth host Everton. Norwich U23s: Oxborough; Ramsay (C), Efete, Odusina (Wallis 79), Lewis; Crowe, Adams; Jaiyesimi, McIntosh (Sambu 66), Cantwell (Hlynsson 80); Ashley-Seal. Subs: Hallett (GK), Syme. Match report here: http://www.norwich.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=481846
Yes Good Luck to them in that competition and don't forget that we host Dinamo Zagreb in the International Cup at CR on Monday with a 7pm kick off. The fans are REALLY snapping up tickets for this game and last time I looked, Block K was pretty much sold out and I'm 'Neddy No Mates' in Block J. Is anyone else going to this game and I'll be in the Queen of Iceni before kick off!!! . Edit - I'm not quite 'Neddy No Mates' in Block J any more and there are only a handful of sets left in Bock K!!!!
