Yeah that's why I was cheering Germany. I wanted Messi to score though because even if he continues to score 50 odd goals a Season people will always mention his record in the World Cup.(despite the champions league being a superior competition) Have to say Argentina substitutions were terrible. Why take Higuain off? Also Palacio was useless and where the hell was Di Maria?
As far as I can see the story about us agreeing terms with khedira originated from caughtoffside which means its bullshit
poor old Aguero .. blubbing like a girl . Good job Shweinsteiger didnt cry after you smashed him in the face and kicked him all over the park you big kant ! Karma !
Relieved that didn't go to penalties. Well deserved from Germany. Regarding Messi, I find the World Cup requirement to be considered "the best" ridiculous. The next best player of the world could come from Lichtenstein for all I care, and I wouldn't expect him to win a World Cup for his country. Even though I'm of the opinion that comparing players of different eras is a bit ridiculous, the defending in the Pele era was comical compared to the present day. Comparing the best of that era to the best of this era is just slightly saner than saying the Olympics gold winning 100m sprinter in 1964 was the best sprinter of all times. Even if let's say his gap from his compatriots was so wide, the sport has moved so far ahead from that time.
Pretty disgraceful really. The **** has he done this tournament really? The invisible man gets seen more than Messi in a WC game.
For all that Messi didn't really shine in the KO rounds, he did almost single-handedly get Argentina through the group stage. He did have some flashes of brilliance in the final too, even if they didn't amount to anything in the end. As for him getting the Golden Ball, whoscored.com concur
Talk about scraping the barrel Manchester United @ManUtd · 1h Great to see a former #mufc academy player in #GER's victorious World Cup squad. Well done, Ron-Robert Zieler.
Lol Ozil gets a 6 from BBC and they make sure to say he got substituted "later on". He was the best in the first half and still contributed more than most up to extra time when he was done after all those sprints.
Miles better than Maradonna. Pele is the only player worth arguing and to be honest he spent most of his career playing in a sub par league. As a professional s&c coach there is not an athlete I would like to work with more.
