About a year ago Paul Lambert took change of the Ewood chicken farmers, his first game in charge was at Deepdale, fast forward he has taken charge of the badly misforming bunch of individuals commonly known as Wolves, his first game in charge is at Deepdale on Saturday however he won't repeat his victory of a year ago.
Having taken over from Zenga, he is an enormous job on his hands because the Chinese owners of the West Midlands club expect to be promoted to the top division this season.(Best of luck with that one)
Last time out they lost against Derby although from what I saw of the game they should have had a late penalty which may have got them a late point. Apparently a lot of new Wolves players this season have all been bought through one agent, they have imported heavily from Portugal be interesting to see how the foreign imports cope with the rather dour Scotsman in charge. If they don't go up this season it will end up with tears.
At the moment they are 19th in the table not having wion in the league since beating Brentford on 24/9/2016, they have won twice away from home at Birmingham and surprisingly at Newcastle, they have a bit of quality in the squad but obviously the new signings have not gelled as yet. Possible return of one ex North Ender Andy Lonergan has been in goal for the last coupole of games, made his debut at Deepdale at the age of 16 has one fault though struggles with shots from distance due to slightly iffy eyesight so have a pot from distance lads.
Browne still suspended for us, no news on Hugill's injury, May getting closer to a return interesting selection poser the pocket psycho Pearson returns from suspension suspect Pringle to make way. Think this may be a draw as Lambert will have them organised.

The highlights of this epic will probably be shown about two minutes before the end of the Championship show on Channel 5. No wasn't great could say both keepers had a easish afternoon.
First thing to note that it appears Wolves have 46 players in the first team squad a staggering amount even at this level, however give credit to them the ones that Lambert put out today worked their socks off and denied North End time on the ball, so the new boss can be more than happy with the score.
The first half was poor apart fom a tame Hugill effort, a Robinson shot and a mazy run by Costa which had several home defenders aqua plaining in the North End area, there was little of note, Wanderers probably just shaded it.
The second half was better Gallagher fired narrowly over from outside the box and Doherty fired narrowly wide for Wolves. A bit of handbags enlivened proceedings after Pearson clattered Iorfa with a North Ender then kicking the ball at thr prone visitor.
Then out of the blue a move which was out of keeping with the rest of the game. McGeady's sublime pass found Baptiste down the right his cross was just slightly too high for theb giant Makienok whose header landed on the roof of the net.
Wolves introduced Dicho who probably should have started looked a danger headed just wide from a free kick. North End had claims for a penalty following a goalmouth scramble nothing given, no surprise we do not get penalties.
Both sides had chances to win it at the death Cavaliero wreaked havoc down the left his cross was headed inches wide by Dicho, then with the last move of the game a Wolves defender slipped, Makienok fed the ball to Hugill who bore down on goal, he had two choices chip the keeper, or take it round the keeper and slot the ball home into an empty net, he choose neither he blitzed it over the bar and that was that.
Neither side deserved to win and neither did.
Finally in keeping with recent times we seem to get awful referees when we play Wolves this years Trevor Kettle crap refereeing performance goes to James Linnington, he was ****e.
