Bony looked terribly off the pace in his first PL games. I'm as worried as everyone else about our 'one for the future' but he needs a run of games. Bony had that between the Europa and then injury problems with Michu. Cornelius hasn't, but he's also done little to suggest he should be given a run. It's a chicken/egg type dilemma for Ole. There have been times this season where we could have had Shearer in his prime up front and we wouldn't have given him a sniff. The way I see it for Cornelius he has had one chance in the PL he should have scored (against WH). So he's 0 from 1. I've seen Bony miss double figures worth of chances this season. This isn't me knocking Bony, I've said on other threads he's starting to look a player, but you can't expect PL strikers to settle from another league overnight.
Well Swansea have always tried to set out to win games and Bony is certainly looking top class. Sometimes you do not get what you deserve and I think that is what has happened to the Swans lately. We on the other hand needed to improve and the last three games have been encouraging. It is more fun with both Welsh sides in this league. jck
Well its certainly looking like a real "6 pointer" in a few weeks time - hope we both get some more points before then though!
As were the games versus Sunderland and West Ham and as will be the games with Villa, WBA, Fulham, Palace, Hull, Norwich, Stoke, Sunderland. Every minute of my waking day I think of how different it would have been if we had netted the extra 2 points v Sunderland, the one v Arsenal and had some luck v West Ham. When did City last get a decent slice of fortune that resulted in some points?
Don't get me going on that Little things like the disallowed Turner goal v Spurs and the ball hitting the ref's head leading to West Ham's opener and Remy's 2nd goal nutmegging Turner and the handball not given at Arsenal for a City pen, and the umpteen penalty shouts not given for Caulker and others being fouled and Rooney staying on the pitch then scoring etc etc.........the tide has to turn soon.
Infamy, infamy etc but you're dead right Nin. Very little gone right for us so far although the Swans would argue that our goal against the should have been chalked off. However, as far as I can remember that is about all we have had going for us this season. Sod's law though, we will get a pen and Whitts will miss.
Join the club Dave - I think something defintley happens to Refs when they pay the Severn bridge toll!
We had 5 shouts against WHU, did not get one. The handball could have been harsh but it was a handball. plenty of photos of FC, SC & Kim being man handled in the box and these are our BEST referees' ? The mind boggles.
Why? A superb header from a superb corner. swansea's own fault for Duncan Goodhew look alike leaving his post.
OK guys, onto round 23 tonight. What will be the points gap between the Swans and us at 10pm? Possibilities are: - 6 points - we lose at OT and the Swans cruise past Fulham. 5 points - we come back with a point and the Swans still get all three. 4 points - we getting nothing but the Swans only manage a draw 3 points - we both win, draw or lose and it all stays the same. 2 points - we get that point but the Swans lose. 1 point - we get all three and the Swans only manage a draw. 0 points - we win and they lose. Whaddya reckon? Another question. If we do come back from OT with zilch which is a realistic expectation, would you want the Swans to be 6 points ahead as it would mean they'd prevented Fulham getting any points?
Hoping for the 3 points, but most I think we can push for is the point.. Positive attitude though, we need to start closing that gap!
Not sure we need to worry about closing the gap to the Swans, we just need to get points on the board. Happy for the Swans to finish above us as long as we finish 17th or above. I fancy us for a point tonight. I'd settle for a draw between Fulham and the Swans as they'd both drop 2 points.
I never meant closing the gap on the Swans mate. I meant getting out of the Relegation Zone/Tightening points on our competitor's
Sorry Jay, my mistake. There are a lot of teams around us playing each other in the next month. They'll all be taking points off each other so we need to get a couple of wins to take advantage of that. Not seen anything on the 3 signings that are due. Anyone else seen or heard anything?
I'd actually quite like the Swans to beat Fulham, mainly because I think the Swans will be safe as we get near the end of the season and we need teams like Fulham to struggle.
