He's single handedly got you 6pts in the last two games, yet Harry will probably sell him in the summer. He would have gone in Jan, but for his family wanting to stay in London. Surely a player of his calibre deserves better than what Spurs are offering him? It's like Darren Bent all over again.
Harry does rate Kranjcar, that's why he signed him The problem is that he has Bale/Modric/VDV in front of him in his favoured positions
Fair enough I suppose, but it's likely that a couple of those players will leave also if Spurs don't get CL football again next season. Is selling Krancjar a wise option?
It's not likely at all that they will leave Even if they wanted to leave they are all on long contracts and Levy would demand silly money
and there are a few clubs out there that have got silly money to throw around - Chelsea, Utd, City, Liverpool, Inter, Real..... TBH can you really see Bale or VDV wanting to stay and play for the Europa cup, when they have had a taste of CL football? Maybe Spurs will pip Chelsea to fourth, but it's more likely that 5th is a realistic position. I just think losing Krancjar would be a bad move for Spurs
It makes no sense for players who are of the jump ship as soon as the club doesn't get into the CL school of thought to sign long contracts. It lessens their chances of a move and costs them money in signing on fees/wages due to not leaving cheaply/on a free
But it makes perfect sense for Spurs to sign these players up on long contracts......maximum transfer value. Do you think Real would be put of trying to prize away a player on a 5 year contract? What about Chelsea? they just paid ã50m for Torres who still had years to go on his Liverpool contract.
There have been loads of rumours about clubs being after Bale and Modric. Not once has there been anything to suggest they want to leave if Spurs don't get CL (and even if they do) Chelsea, Real and Man City can buy big because of their owners and, in the case of Real, an easy ride from the authorities. The financial fair play rules will stop that. Man Utd are still paying off the Glazer debt and Liverpool/Inter are worse off than Spurs right now. It's all moot to me as I think City will be the ones to miss out on 4th due to their hard away run in (1 away point from the last 9 is not CL qualifying form)
Our problem seems to be dropping points to the lower teams in the division. We've been doing O.K against the other top teams (except yours!!!).
