St leger of Preston would be a good shout, a versatile defender who would be out of place in the third division.
Not in his first flush of youth, but why not someone with a bit of experience behind them to help our youngsters along.
    Clarke Carlisle, same story.

No rush on loans because of 93 day rule. Pearson still has eyes on May 30th "KEEP THE FAITH"

Or until we wouldn't offer him one last year for all the service he's given us.

I think St. Ledger is quite young isn't he? Carlisle I've never rated since he got absolutely destroyed in one of Burnley's games last year, against Portsmouth I think. He was awful.

St Ledger is 26 so he'll soon peak. I wouldn't mind him though, he's looked good from whenever I've seen him play. Carlisle? I hope not, I don't rate him at all. What about someone like Bruma form chelsea? He looks like a quality prospect or maybe boyata?

No room for sentiment in football, everyone has to earn their contracts. Nobody said that he would not be given a new contract, he obviously just didn't think he was good enough to earn one.

Carlisle is 31 and there were some rumours about us being in for him early in January, though he would not seem to fit the profile of players that Pearson is currently going for.

Kightly's a good player, but the fact that he's likely to be out for another month is a slight worry, he hasn't played since November.

November 2009 at that, which makes him even more of a worry.

Be even better if he brought a young athletic defender back with him! Agree about sentiment not being a central to offering new contracts but surely performances, influence in a game and overall effective leadership are - thats what Ash had being giving us.

Hell, I hadn't even noticed the year, I just assumed it was last year.

There's a rumour in Leicester that we're after Jack Hobbs too.

Nothing to lose if we bring Kightly in, doubt we would be paying much, if any, of his wages. I think he would be a decent acquisition and is probs the type of player that Pearson would go for, so there could bs ome truth in this.

Doubt we would b able to afford Jack Hobbs though?

Ah, so this is where the life is. Got tired of the Ubermods at 606.

I suspect that we will be in for Neil Danns and Jonathan Greeening. They seem to fit the profile of this mornings beeb interview with NP and were already mentioned in this article with AP on the 3rd Feb.

Seems like poss loan deals with a view to signing in the summer.
