We won't even be able to give Riviere away
It will probably cost us to get someone to take him:

    Emmanuel Riviere (Real Osasuna)
With their relegation from the Primera Liga confirmed, Osasuna end their season at Sevilla this Sunday.

Riviere played the last of his 15 games for them back in early February and failed to score or even finish on the winning side in any of them.

As a striker in 38 games he has 1 goal since joining us. That's ****ing terrible.

This. Must be some of the worst scouting ever. There is no way he could have impressed in any league.

Aye, he tripped up and it ricocheted off his knee IIRC.

Somebody must have been getting a backhander in us signing him. He's a walking disaster area. I just hope he's not on too high a wage and we can sell him/give him away.

Word is that Sunderland are interested. Feel he would be able to slot in their team very quickly.

Don't think we can recoup an awful lot, truth be told. Our assets who are worth anything realistically need to be kept.

First to go are Thauvin, Riviere and Saivet, £10m combined. Then those who fancy themselves as first team players but who just aren't good enough will be the ones to go. That's Gouffran, Hanley, Krul, Lazaar, Sels and Diame. They'd be ok in the squad, but not sure they'd want to. Diame might, Benitez does like the bloke. Gouff's contract is done so he should be off. Lazaar is a shame, seemed like a good idea. Should pick up another £10m if we're lucky.

I think Colback, Gamez, Anita will all be kept for squad positions. We need a CB, LB, DM, AM, CF and Winger all of first eleven, PL standard. Simple enough for CB and LB; Shawcross and Taylor (Leeds). DM needs some scouting, the options on the continent would probably be best here. AM Sigurdsson would be a fantastic purchase, but Mooy would also be up to the job, then up front and on the wings we would do a lot worse than Markovic (as Hull have disappeared) and Josh King.

I bet if we offered someone £10m and paid his wages for 5 years someone would take backward Jack

Being reported in the local press over the last couple of days that Anita and Gouffran will not be offered contract extensions an will both depart next month. Anita has done ok at RB and he is versatile but, honestly, he struggled badly in the Premier League before and I think he'll get ripped to shreds against the pace and skill of a lot of EPL wingers. We need a winger anyway so I can see the value in Gouffran staying for another year if we can't afford two new wide men, but if we can then, fine, sayonara. If Rafa's clearing mediocrity like this out then it's a good sign that we are in for a fair few decent signings.

Would be delighted to see both of these replaced with upgrades. However, these two both go with a big thank you and best wishes. Gouff especially has had his rough patches, but neither have ever fallen into the 'can't be arsed' category, and both have had a few very good spells in the team. Both played a big part in our promotion and for that I will always be grateful. Hopefully both would receive a warm welcome if/when we cross paths again.
