'fraid not. Yes it is a terrible result for us, but as long as we do put it behind us, we were all expecting a loss at Anfield and from that perspective aside from goal difference it doesn't matter if its 2-1 or, ahem, 5-0 so long as we bounce back.
Can you honestly see yourselves getting anything out of the Spurs game next week DM based on the shocker today? You could only draw with Newcastle last week and yet Reading went up there and beat them today! The problem you have got is the same as ours in as much as the gap between you and the chasing pack is eroding at a rate of knots! In fact our situation is better because the teams around us arent picking up points to overhaul us but in your situation another couple of defeats and you will be in the brown stuff!
To be fair to them Welly they haven't been used to getting beat week after week for ages but the longer the run goes without a win the less confident the players become. Hughton has been great so far because he hasn't had to manage a crisis but one is coming and if he hasn't got a plan B then they are fooked!
I know what you mean SD! Aston Villa beating Norwich in the last game of the season ensuring that the Budgies are relegated would be like my mother in law driving off a cliff in my brand new Ferrari!
In all honesty mate, up until today I was pretty confident that they would stay up this season, but after today's result I'm glad I didn't put any money on it! The fact that we have none of their usual WUMs on our board tonight speaks volumes!
Welly will you be having a wager on next seasons old farm derby. It's starting to look like it may be back on.
I would never wish relegation on any club (even the scum up the road), I'm a firm believer in the old adage that the table doesn't lie and that you finish where you deserve and all that... Having said that, I'm now tentatively beginning to look forward to introducing my 16 yr old lad to his first Old Farm Derby in the SBRL next season...
The biggest plus in all of this Lambert hatred on their part is that we're off the hook for the derby batterings
Fair comment. It's a long season and never built on a few results. So yes whether you win the league or go down its what you've done over 9 months.
