What to expect on our Derby Sunday Goodness knows, if you ask me, The sublime, the absurd, the hopeless, the great All those four and more probably But in this case, as in every Derby It´s the end not the means that will pay, Three points and a smidgeon of neighbourly pride Is all that matters on the day And although our home form is solid to good Murphy´s Law can sometimes be a Sod, It would be typical if this were the day When it failed us, and if so - my God! It doesn´t bear thinking about should it end In defeat to our nearest foe, But with nothing to lose and plenty to win The Blues will be raring to go And bearing in mind how our season has gone Sky-high one week then a nosedive, It wouldn´t surprise if we scored three or four Or let in two, three, four or five. OTBC In other words, we´re about as reliable and predictable as we´ve ever been - not very!
What to expect indeed gents. This is the least optimistic I've been going into a binners game for some time. Losing to Burton I can get over (eventually!), but this one...?
I would say it´s absolutely wide open, and just depends on who wants/needs it most, which ought to be us, but that´s never a foregone conclusion. Ipswich have actually done pretty well lately, so they won´t be turning up with such an inferiority complex as some years.
If it was being played at Portman Road I would fancy our chances of getting a decent result but as its at the Carrot Patch then I will be more than happy to take a draw right now! We have had some tough games in February (Reading at Home, Villa Away, Brighton Away and Leeds at Home) and have gone unbeaten so there is no reason why we shouldn't at least get a point on Sunday.
Morning Warky, I´d say your lot have probably got as good a chance of getting something this time, as they´ve had recently. We´re like night and day at the moment, and not just from game to game, but sometimes from half to half.
If Mick starts with Skuse and Douglas in Midfield then we are fooked but if he picks a more attacking line up as he has been doing recently then we will have half a chance. As usual we have got nothing to play for apart from pride and all the pressure will be on your boys as you need the points more than us! It will be a tight game that's for sure.
I can confidently state that although I will be watching the game, I don't really care what the result is. I have never felt this way about NCFC before, let alone our Derby game. It's a really odd feeling and one that perhaps may change by kick-off time though I very much doubt it.
I reckon that this is your best chance for a win in a while jwm and I just hope it's a good game. I see the referee is Olover Langford (never heard of him!!) assisted by Neil Davis and Matt Foley Davis and the 4th official is Simon Hooper. Wasn't he the referee who disallowed CJ's goal against palar53????
