1) That stupid ****ing sport on ice where they use brooms...no...just ****ing no 2) diving...unless they hit their head on the board it's just beyond tedious 3) pole vaulting...only good for that old joke. Are you a pole vaulter? No I'm German but how did you know my name?
The Luge, i'm sure that it is exhilarating to slide down compacted ice laying on your belly on nothing but a tea tray, but watching it is unbelievably tedious, virtually every run is exactly the same with the only difference being a few hundredths of a second.
Apparently it's all in the tray, the word on the slopes is that Tesco trays are the best and explains why when you go in for a buttie and brew early morning, the snow crew are normally in there and all leaving looking like pac-man..
The trick is, don't go to every day. One will do, two at a push. It's genuinely not remotely boring, the cricket itself is compelling when it's quiet and riveting when the ante is upped. Modern test cricket is generally a four day afair, there is rarely the dogged bat for three days for a draw anymore. Plus, the bar is always open. Great day, trust me.
Anyone play/watch squash? I was hearing something about darts have applied to be an Olympic 'sport'. Squash has been knocked back to the point where I think they've given up. It's genuinely gladiatorial, if darts gets in then the world is ****ed up.
I was an awesome Squash player when I was in my early teens . Lived on a navy base and could play free anytime I wanted . Use to piss off the sailors when I beat them all the time . Back then the ball was made of a hard rubber that you could hardly squeeze out of shape and until the ball was warmed up , you could drop it and when it hit the floor it wouldn't bounce whatsoever . Was good at all raquet sports . Was high school Champ in both Badminton and table tennis 3 years straight
Dressage is cool if you look beyond the word and turn it into your word and fantasy.. The moons a balloon according to David Niven, Dressage is rolling all over the bedroom floor with a nymphomaniac woman according to me..
I still play, I'm fairly decent. It's a dying sport though, most local leisure centres now put a creche in the squash courts. You don't see kids playing. Well, youths as it's not really a sport for children. It's middle aged gadgeys like me flying the flag. Love it. You lot play racquet ball though don't you,.with a big daft ball?
The thing that I don't understand, is why someone would just go for say, the 2nd day. It's like just going to a football match in the 20th minute and then leaving in the 40th minute. Why just watch a section of a match?
