Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast this morning, 'The Moose' expressed his unhappiness about making the trip west. The first part of his tirade was secretly recorded and he was unaware his comments would be aired, but when his remarks were played back to him the presenter followed it up by taking another crack at Wales and Swansea. Here is his rant in full: IA (off-air): "Why should I pay £6.60 to get into Wales, eh? What has Wales got? Sheep. I can see sheep anywhere. After the game I can go and see landmarks like Buckingham Palace. Have they got Buckingham Palace in Swansea? They've got the Bumbles, or the Mumbles or the Gower. "I mean, I can get back into England for free, England has got far more than Wales, £6.60 is a disgrace." Pay no heed Dai. The station is haemorrhaging listeners and the guy is widely regarded as a tool - even amongst his fellow reporters.
Wow!! I don't know who the guy is but he comes across as a total moron. Someone tell him that it's not a public road and that's why he must pay. It's simple, if you don't like it take the scenic route.
I 'almost' feel sorry for him. Wales is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, and I was lucky enough to call it home for over a decade. "There is a castle in Cardiff, what else have they got?" So so much, but probably nothing an imbecile like that could ever appreciate.
Sadly, there are quite a few people from the other side of Offa's Dyke who hold similar opinions about Wales, and the Welsh,as does this individual. Sadly, there are quite a few Welsh people who hold similar views of the English and England. You reap what you sow, springs to mind.
I actually find it quite amusing and is said to get exactly the reaction that he has got. The thread is started by someone who does exactly the same as Andrews, to try and get the same reaction. pot kettle black.
