Thoroughly good performance. Everyone except Darmian and Pogba had a solid game. Pogba really needs to start demonstrating on the pitch why we went through such a pullava to buy him.

Special mention for Rojo, he gets a lot of stick at times (justifiably) but he was immense today

 

I actually thought Darmian had a decent game today and has been decent overall considering he is on the wrong flank. Rojo and Jones have been very solid and surprised me in a good way, I never thought Jones would improve.

 

Phil Jones has been superb since he came back. Hope to God he now stays injury free.

Mike Smalling is very likely to be a thing of the past now. That's how it needs to be, lot's of genine competition for places.

 

Can't agree with you about Pogba. He can't have MOM performances every time. He was awesome against palace.

This team is not there yet. With Mikhi we would have more urgency and penetration. I am relieved we managed to get 2 wins in his absence.

 

He makes the odd decent tackle, but he's continuously caught out of position on that left side and is easy for players to go past him. Rojo covered for him brilliantly today I thought. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he's a bad player, but he's definitely better on the right.

 

I'm not saying MOM performances, I'd just like him to be stronger on the ball, have a real presence in midfield and actually effect play up front. Personally, I thought he was overrated by the pundits against Palace. He runs around a lot, I'll give him that.

 

He had an excellent first half and final 15 minutes but I think he went missing for the first half hour after half time.

For me he is a key player in that midfield. He Herrera and Carrick are coming to an understanding. We are slowly getting a team with a solid defence and midfield. The weak-ish link is the strike force. If Zlatan gets injured or suspended we are ****ed. He has scored more goals than the rest of team put together.
