We're gonna win the league! Great result against Northampton and things can only go up. We beat West Brom 2-0 and now Northampton 2-1. Only one loss in our last 6 games in all competitions. Let's get some positivity going. We're going up as Champions!
What's the big idea with the tags ? - I wouldn't mind, but I've been included in a list featuring Edinburgh ( I can make myself hated without that sort of help )
Champions ! - no as chimps (almost an anagram ) - well, JE has almost made monkeys out of us so far !
But we've beaten the West Brom Under 21 team and Northampton. That's enough basis to win League One right?
Back to back wins in the league. It's still on the cards. Even your mate Cody is scoring goals without a partner lol.
75 goals in less than 200 games isn't too shabby. There aren't any other strikers who have stayed at Priestfield long enough to do that over the last 15 years.
Absolutely agree, really impressive tally, but the one vital point everyone misses when ever I discuss Cody, for over 15 years and 75 goals in 200 games, what have we won during those performances? Absolutely nothing Our League 2 winning side against Wimbledon; Gillingham 01 Nelson 02 Fish 06 Legge 12 Frampton 26 Barrett 07 Whelpdale Booked (Weston - 47' ) 08 Lee 14 Allen 28 Gregory 09 Kedwell 20 Burton (Birchall - 77' ) Substitutes 21 Forecast 05 East 15 Davies 18 Dack 24 Weston 37 Muggleton 17 Birchall and we even sacked the manager that won us our first title in 50 years
brb, you really must stop making up stories, it was only in the last 2 weeks (with Cody in the team) that we won the toss.
Grumpy could you imagine investing a million pounds on something then i 15 years time, despite all the fancy marketing, your million quid had returned no valuable return and while the marketed product itself had decreased in value It's like having a big jamboree bag and the disappointment of when you open it to find no trophy (toys) inside.
Strange the working of a supporters mind, Keds wins us a trophy and yet was hardly mentioned, Cody wins sod all and is a messiah.
I would certainly argue that Cody's goals alone gave us our promotion push in the 2010/11 season. You can't fault him that Hess' tactics of hoof ball and very shoddy defenders we had then we're Cody's fault. If he hadn't have got those 25 goals we wouldn't have even finished as close to the play - offs as we did. Also in our first season back in League One, under a lacklustre Peter Taylor, his 17 goals (11 of which came after January) pretty much guaranteed our safety No Cody hasn't won any trophies or medals or promotions but neither did Steve Bruce, Steve Lovell, Tony Cascarino, Paul Shaw etc but they get legendary status also. Kedwell did help us get promoted and I openly wanted him to stay but he seems content scoring 15 goals a season in the Conference South now. If you've seen any Gills games recently brb you would see that no other Gills player has been working harder during games than Cody does.
Surely though it's not about how hard someone works...as JET has proven lol...it's about the dynamics as a team.
But having said that...good come back GillsPegLeg...i was desperately searching for my bounce back thwn haha
