On your FACup win against Bournemouths Youth team today I suppose its a welcome distraction from your relegation dogfight in the pub league maybe if you get a good cup run, or a good next round tie against one of the giants like Leeds United you may be able to buy the land around your ground and stop the developers turning the Den into a Lidl Good luck lads
Millwall did infact offer more money than Renewal for the land we have been leasing since we moved to the Den and submitted plans similar to Renewal's(but better) yet still Lewisham Council seem determined to sell under price to their mates and former colleagues from Renewal a company that has never finished a project before. This isn't some greedy chairman taking the club and fans for a ride as you've experienced numerous times, this is the local council(former sponsors) selling the land under our feet in the most corrupt way possible, forget about buying Elland Road and Thorp Edge back just keep it sweet with Leeds City Council.
https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...on-millwall-and-the-new-dens-uncertain-future A good take on proceedings
There was a good article in The Sun yesterday (January 9th, FA Cup Special pages 8-9) about Millwall's plight. I liked the bit from Danny Baker the radio presenter who tweeted: "I hereby bring a hex down on Lewisham Council & Renewal their greasy vampiric partners. May you have cancer as I had cancer." Outside the ground a banner reads: "We forget nothing, we forgive no one. You money grabbing c+++s". ......I'm pretty sure the money grabber that is the Labour Party Lewisham leader - Sir Steve Bullock - is from Yorkshire.........Bloody Northerner !!!!!!!!!
Point taken but the Yorkshire born Sir Steve Bullock was elected on a Labour Party ticket. For The Sun it's a well written article because the piece on Millwall also states: "It is a dark, strange and worrying story. Any football fan who thinks it is funny that Millwall could be relocated 75 miles to the Kent coast should stop and think for a second because it could be their club. Maybe one day, it will be. Millwall will not be the last team which is forced into a corner by an organisation they once trusted - and one they campaigned with heavily to save Lewisham Hospital A&E department."
We know what you're saying, its only a bit of a piss take. its so wrong what the Bent ****s are doing to the Wallies, No **** bothered about us with all the **** that we've endured over the last 15 years, i'll never ever forget those ****ing bastard chairmen who voted for us to stay in lg1, ****s the lot of them
