Good luck for the playoffs - you've been the best footballing side I've seen out of the teams in the mix
Good weekend in Sheffield, very friendly fans. Difficult to make anything playoff views (we can say that now ?) Wednesday rested a good number, we did also, the sending off and the fact that it was a dead rubber had us play in slightly more relaxed form that normal, particularly in the 2nd half. A couple of observations - Kalas was visibly upset at being substituted (I liked that) Martin looked a bit chubby, (I didn't like that) and piped crowd cheering noise through the PA before kick off (never heard of that !) I wonder how many clubs put crowd noise through their PA system when a game is going on. It's obvious when no-one is in the stadium but difficult to tell once everyone is in. I'm glad the guy got a red card for the challenge as I hate to see a player brought down so cynically after he's been skinned but it did change the game and it was effectively all over. Great support from Fulham fans.
How was the heart rate when Malone made this "audacious" piece of cleaning up in our six yard box, COYW?
Enjoyed the stress-free match with 3000 others. A few random thoughts.... Pity to concede so early, but played the ball off the ref, losing possession while setting up an attack. First goal typical Fulham decisive attack; second more straightforward. Scott Malone could have scored; Chris Martin worked hard and kept the CDs busy, making space for Kebano; Odoi took time to settle his crossing. In midfield, it was interesting to miss Johansen, but TC was the fulcrum and McDonald remains our unsung hero. REEEEAAAAM just so comfortable - no coincidence given Betts had a sound game. Loved the applause for Scotty Parker coming on. Wednesday made so many changes, and did well to hold-out. Still 39 quid was a rip-off. COYW!
