Looks like it's happening then, Even though I've given him stick over the last couple of years, It'll be sad to leave us, I wonder how Tobes and Everton fans feel about his potential return to them.
He's past it, There's no way he's scoring goals for them, Jamie Carragher had him in his pocket in Michael Carrick's testimonial, That says it all for me.
Can you not use one of the two transfer threads set up for this very thing rather than litter the board with your usual brand of utter tripe?
If i was an Everton fan i'd think **** him..its win win for him..gets to stay in the PL and with a reputable club..round the corner from his house no doubt...he wont be on peanuts either. His experience of being at a successful club is probably the only thing that would want me to sign him...is that worth it? Guy is on around 250k a week..i hear its a year long loan...i wonder why, hmmm...there you go..cheeky bastard
He's got a point to prove and I think the move will see him revitalised after being stale at United for 18 months. Whether he's physically capable of an Indian summer with us will remain to be seen.
All good things must come to an end, I hope he goes on to achieve success with Everton and become as vital for them has he was for us. I've got no doubt that a trophy with his boyhood club will mean more to him than any he's won here. It'll be strange not hearing his name ring around the Stretford End. As much as he's been an icon here, we won't be singing his name after he's gone like we still do Cantona. I'll be glad that we've moved on but I won't be celebrating him leaving, he's been some player for us.
This is thing that gets me, that a lot seem content to erase everything he ever did because he asked to leave once. There's a bit too much sneeriness at his departure for my liking. Like you say, name sung every home game. Loudly, by many. It's those that never go who claim the crowd is against him, it's just bollocks. You don't hear Bryan Robson name still sung, doesn't mean he's not a club great. That is reserved for the absolute icons anyway. Like Diego Forlan. Personally, I wish him well and hope that Everton get a league or FA cup or something soon, it's overdue. Maybe even go after the EL.
If he goes on loan to Everton it's a win-win for him and us, he gets to go back to his boyhood team, And in the process, take points off our rivals as well.
Yeah I hope he does well if he goes to Everton. I think his England footprint is like a dirty stain on his career but watching him grow and develop here has been a pleasure for the most part. It's not his fault that England are a ****ing shambles and have been throughout his career. Any United fan that goes on to give the lad **** after what he's achieved here and the records he's set, are just idiots imo.
