Typical - we choose to lose the day all the other results are going our way.

Wet Spam leading ManUre and Saints leading the Toffees.

I really don't understand why we cannot introduce referrals by refs (esp), managers & captain like they have in rugby, tennis & cricket. Managers & players could have restrictions on referals or sanctions if they overdo it. It would sharpen everyone up refs would try and do better, players wouldn't chance their arm on the ref being blind and managers could politely ask the 4th ref! It may even be a good idea for matches to reviewed after the game and any offences that were missed could be dealt with accordingly (without altering the result). I would love to see the end of shirt pulling or holding.

Thy are trying it in Netherlands - you'd probably need to have an experienced ref in the video booth and a limit on the number of appeals as you say..

Awful refereeing performance today....consistently inconsistent. Watford were poor, but you just cannot have a decent game of football when the idiots in the middle are trying to be the stars of the show!!!

What really got my goat today were the players, with the exception of Deeney and Gomes, skulking off down the tunnel at the final whistle without acknowleding the fans, yet last week they were out taking the applause and adulation. It is about time they showed a bit of bloody respect to the people that come out to support them by walking around the pitch to 'say thank you' at the end of the game win, lose or draw. There are people that turn up week in week out some travelling for miles, would it really be such a hardship for them to show a bit of gratitude?

Stoke deserved the win simply because Watford seemed to think that all they had to do was turn up today....that is the managers fault!! That may sound harsh, but generally you get out what you put in, and today was not good enough!

I too am wondering about player attitude... may be part of the ethos of this new manager or just my new samsing tv showing things crystal clear...

With reference to the "How is the ref still standing?", I answer:
Because he is not Vardy, Wilson, Mahrez, etc...

We had a very poor ref today, but the one in the Arsenal game was no better, possibly even worse. They are letting the game down.

Wilson's dive was disgusting. How that is not worthy of red is beyond me. He is deliberately cheating in order to directly change the score. How is it different from the old 'professional foul'?

Funny because he had a stone waller turned down last weekend!

Against Stoke of course so Eddie probably had a word (and as he is a young English manager it probably got heard)

I know refs are meant to be professional and not have ideas about players but I bet they all think guys like Holebas and Britos are right old thugs so ones to look out for.

Afterall they are humans and like all of us will have preconceived ideas about players etc.

Joking aside, Howe has a lot of players doing this, which disappoints me greatly. It does make me conclude that he colludes with/encourages it.

That was a bit rubbish all round. Strange atmosphere for the early kick-off combined with the weird refereeing just made for an odd day. Must mention Charlie Adam though who in the warm-up smashed a ball into a small child in the Family Stand. Came over and made sure she was OK and at the end of the game came over and gave her his shirt <applause>. Something to remember from an otherwise forgettable day.

A veritable howitzer - I was standing right behind the goal and was about to duck...
