Today it is just another game that has to be played in the league that we now find ourselves in. Yet when you look at the star names throughout their team it does still have something of a glamour game for us when we can judge just how far we have come with our new coach and players. Despite having spent large sums to strengthen our squad they are small amounts compared to our opponents. please log in to view this image Watford's head coach was very pleased to gain the first win against West Ham last Saturday, but is very aware that it will be a tough game against Manchester. At his news conference Walter Mazzarri said, "We will try to limit their capabilities" please log in to view this image Manager Jose Mourinho says he will revert to a "normal team" at Watford on Sunday after Manchester United's Europa League defeat at Feyenoord. Mourinho made eight changes for Thursday's game, and a lacklustre display saw his side beaten 1-0. Captain Wayne Rooney and full-backs Antonio Valencia and Luke Shaw were left at home to rest for Sunday's Premier League match. Team News: Walter Mazzarri's side could be without defenders Younes Kaboul and Sebastian Prodl with their fitness in doubt ahead of the Premier League clash. Nordin Amrabat was deemed not fully fit last weekend but the Moroccan international is fit to feature this weekend. Head coach Mazzarri said: "I need to verify today and tomorrow Kaboul’s condition and also Prodl had a problem during the week. Stefano Okaka is likely to be out for several weeks with a hamstring problem. Wherever you are in the World --- Enjoy the Game
Thanks OFH. What about a flat back four from the start for this one - Britos, Cathcart, Holebas, Janmaat? I think we can get a draw here and actually get the point we deserve against one of the big boys. 2-2. Will be leaving nice and early around 8.15 - at least the roads will be clear! COYH!
MU looked a bit clueless on Thursday. Not sure whether that's a good omen or not. It'll be a different XI and there'll be the Mourinho scowl from the touchline following their every move. It still feels a much more even contest than it used to.
Watford's home game against Manchester United on Sunday will be refereed by Michael Oliver. The referee awarded two penalties against the Hornets, which were both missed by Saido Berahino, in their 1-0 win at West Brom in April. Oliver also gave a penalty against Watford in the 1-1 draw at Bournemouth in October. He has already dished out 15 yellow cards in just three matches this season.
Doubt Watford will ever have a better chance to beat them than last time round at home....COYH...prove me wrong...
I am afraid I will miss this game as it is my monthly dinner date. Then I will be in England for the next two weeks, so will miss out again unless I become very anti-social. Hopefully by the time I get home we will be well away from the relegation spots having not suffered any nasty Hammer defensive days.
Yes exactly, that is what OFH said, so that is at least 4 that have been awarded by this ref against us but none of them have been scored.
Oh dear, according to the Telegraph we have got the most yellows and the only red in the EPL this season so far.
I read that Mourihno will be fielding his proper team today, not the ones who played in the week. Respect or what? Just want the lads to put in a shift and have a good game.
