Just remembered something from yesterday. In the 3rd minute of the 4 for added time the ball went into the front row of the Family Stand. The teenager at the front threw the ball back to HG a little bit too quickly for Gomes' liking (or the rest of the stand for that matter!). The scowl that he gave the lad was brilliant and I wouldn't like to translate the Portuguese that he uttered under his breath!

Yesterday afternoon while watching some huffing and puffing on the pitch, I noticed the front row of seats in the SEJ had notices on them saying that they were for "Press". Now we do get some bad reviews from them, and I wondered if it is because they cannot see properly looking into the sun. Of course that might not be a problem at all, just that on a cold or wet day they find they are not protected from the elements, and do not have regular top ups of hot soup provided. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Struggled to break down a resolute Hull side playing a 4-5-1 come 5-4-1 packing the defensive midfield area. Amrabat aside, we were lacking that bit of quality to get behind them to create clear cut chances, whereas Hull had certainly one, if not two clear opportunities to score. My glass was half empty for most of the match. But a win's a win. Three clean sheets on the trot is not to be sniffed at but we're lacking an incisive edge to our build up play: all too slow and telegraphed.

Three clean sheets, but only 2 goals in those games, just 1 from a Watford player and we're at Anfield next. <yikes>

Noticed we didn't have a minutes silence for Remembrance Day whereas some clubs did.

Guess the club felt it was too early to have one.

I wasn't as impressed with Amrabat as everyone else seems to have been. He was very good at beating his man, and he is very fast, but his crossing was woeful. The only time he really succeeded was when he could make a short pass to someone who could cross dangerously, as happened with the goal.

They were going on about Amrabat on ESPN, the link I was watching, as having skill and pace but no end product.

How many assists has he got this season? One they said...

People use to slag Cally off too and he was a much better crosser.

Part of the problem is that players are supposed to run on to the ball and at times they are wrongly positioned.

This was the best i have seen Amrabat play and given i had little time for him last season he seems now to be on fire.

Funny game .... we easily could have won 3-0 but nothing was on target.....

Palpable relief round the ground when the (own) goal went in which indicated to me as an irregular visitor that we have a more forgiving crowd these days.

Mind you we were at the back corner of the SEJ stand and behind us we had a one dimensional loud mouth.....

True. Cally had the same problem back then that Capoue appears to have now - he got things done, but without putting any apparent effort in. Something I read recently about Capoue truly amazed me - he is apparently the ninth fastest player in the EPL, even ahead of Bellerin and Walcott....

I know that guy - often wondered where he had got to... :)

He excels at shirt grabbing. Just wondered how it would affect his game if he had to wear fingerless mittens.

That's a good idea all footballers to wear fingerless mittens and shirts that rip if tugged (or oily shirts maybe!)

Oiled-up men in ripped shirts is another sport altogether.
