I can't quite remember the players involved, but towards the later days of the bbc606, some of the stuff posted was picked up and made it into the red tops.
It was rather amusing at the time. Needless to say Rocketswanie wasn't involved! (nickybutt)

 

Of course it's just as likely that journalists are simply looking at Forster's apparently restricted movement and coming to the same conclusion (or asking the same question) as people on here.

 

Unless memory fails, the journalist referred to reports, so he's read something rather than dreaming up the question.

Either Sunderland or Newcastle board on here managed to get a completely made up rumour into the press a few years back too!

 

Ah. That is slightly different. I know there was an article a while back on the Ugly Inside saying Forster will be rested soon because he's carrying an injury but I haven't seen anything else. Mind you, I don't read too many football stories/rumours any more.

 

Since then we've occasionally had discussions about inventing rumours to see if we can get them into the papers. Trouble is, just talking about doing it gets the whole thing undermined. What we need to do is decide on a few subjects. Vote for one of them, then delete the whole vote/discussion thread. Then, after a day or two, someone pops up with the rumour subject and we all seriously comment. The mods would have to be on their toes deleting spoilers though.

 

They do hunt for stories, its proven. That's what makes it so funny......sometimes. I have a mate who believes everything he reads in the papers, and I often get a call saying, 'sorry to hear about...blah blah...leaving......'
I just role with it on occasions.....its like its own entertainment!!!!

 

Completely understandable. Those hours can just fly by.

One more season and he can leave with no hard feelings. If he leaves this summer I would be a little annoyed.

 

Whether or not he goes, in my view, is completely down to how much the buying club want him. At the end of the day if Chelsea/City/Utd whoever smash down a 50m bid for him then it would be very hard for the club to say no and he almost certainly would go. If clubs come in with offers around 20m then I think we will stay strong, unless he starts to kick up a fuss

 

I doubt it takes 50m. We'll sell for less early in the window, as is our wont. Probably low 40s with add-ons included, off which Celtic gets 10% if memory serves.

 

I don't think any club in their right mind would just splash 40-50 million on him until seeing how he recovers from the injury therefore i think we may get another season out of him now.

 

problem with that is there are no clubs in their right minds!
