Chaps and chapesses, I would like to feel that like me, you would all like to pass on your condolences to our close friends. They have unfortunately been denied victory in front of their highest ever 'home' attendance, nay the highest ever 'home' attendance of any British club as proudly stated on their clubs official twitter feed. My dear local friends, you don't get to play in this competition very often, and you have a really tough group. Please don't be down about this, I really really hope that you will get through and finally have something to be proud about your club. Best wishes and good luck. PS well done Leicester you make Britain proud.
Now now Piskie, let's not be mean. They can't help it that they never normally qualify for this tournament. These smaller clubs do not have the experience of sides like us and Leicester.
Also, be nice. This is not a WUM thread and I will not tolerate meanness. They tried their best and we're unlucky. Let's all hope they can recover from this and not suffer similar reaction to their loss to those Chav ****s at the end of last season.
I do hope this thread is tongue in cheek You do all realise that in their one and only previous CL season Spurs finished higher than you usually do? I have seen nothing this week to suggest that won't happen again this year.
Not at all, I have a lot of love for our local buddies and wish them many nights like this. On your other point, our dear friends do not quite have the record or history that we do, in the CL or domestically.
I also think that you man u 'fans' should respect the records our beloved friends have for highest 'home' attendance records, beating obviously smaller clubs like yours.
Oh come now, be fair. Spurs record in CL = not won it Arsenal record in CL = not won it Seems very similar to me
I must admit that was very impressive, I suppose it depends on where you call "home" though United's biggest ever "home" attendance was just under 2k less than Spurs, the problem being it was at Main Road. City actually have the highest (English) home attendance of 84,467 actually at "home" Main Road.
Meh. Hoping for 8 this year. Better than (don't know the number) 27 games to qualify for some **** that no-one remembers the winners of.
I think he was being sarcastic considering we lost to Monaco at home a year and a half ago. That being said, the result is still ****ing hilarious baring in mind Monaco aren't actually as strong as they were when they beat us (though it was still a terrible result for us).
No idea. I don't really care, either. They've sold a few best players since that game and haven't seemed to replace them with anyone of note, so on paper, it is safe to say they are weaker than when they played against us - but we still should have beaten them at home, so it was a humiliating result for us.
