Terrific. That win should please Steve Wigley, visiting his old stomping ground. The team was: T. Ashby-Hammond; S. Sessegnon, Jenz, Garrido, Felix; Kelly (Andrason 67'), York, Harris, Thorsteinsson; Santos-Clase (Pearce 62'), Thompson (Elstone 82') Unused subs: Norman, Spence Thanks for the lead to see the goals D. Will settle for now with the one by the scoring machine of the moment. Cameron Thompson
Fulham 0 Tottenham 1 (U18s) Dubious penalty dumps the youngsters. The team was: T. Ashby-Hammond; Fossey, Jenz, Garrido, S. Sessegnon; Kelly, York, Harris, Dagur Thorsteinsson; Santos-Classe, Thompson Unused subs: Felix, L. Ashby-Hammond, Spence, Elstone, Andrason "The first real chance of the game came for the home side when Cameron Thompson’s strong attempt was well kept out by Spurs ‘keeper Jonathan De Bie. On the half hour mark Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson had an opportunity to put the home side ahead when he stepped up to take his free-kick but unfortunately struggled to beat the De Bie. The visitors then had their own golden opportunity to put themselves in the lead after they were awarded a corner but centre back Japhet Tanganga couldn’t get his attempt on target and it blazed over the cross bar. Both sides came out after the break unchanged and Spurs almost found the back of the net after a Jose Garrido mistake but Whites ‘keeper Tay Ashby-Hammond’s quick reactions were enough to deny the goal. With 17 minutes to go Tottenham Hotspur found themselves with the opportunity to score from the spot. Moritz Jens was adjudged to have pulled down Aramide Oteh in the area and up stepped Sam Shashoua who confidently tucked his opportunity away."
Here's a link to more complete write up by the opposition. Hadn't realised the Spurs team were in such good form at the moment which kind of puts the defeat in a better context. http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/new...ort/fulham-u18s-v-spurs-match-report-051116/?
We've been drawn at home agaist either Mansfield or Dunkirk in the 3rd round of the FA Youth Cup. The tie has to be played before 17th December.
Fulham 1 Leicester 0 (U18s) A Reece York first half goal saw the lads take all the points. [No other details as yet]
Matt's back ! In his first match after that long injury lay-up, he played the whole game and dominated the midfield. The team was: T. Ashby-Hammond; S. Sessegnon, Jenz, Garrido, Felix; O'Riley, York; Pearce, Harris, Kelly (Elstone 68'); Santos Clase Unused subs: Spence, Lukwata, De Haviland, Hilton "The Whites controlled the game from the off, and could have gone in front with 20 minutes played when Isaac Pearce went through one-on-one, only for goalkeeper Cameron Yates to grab the ball off his toes. Reece York was then denied from point blank range by Yates, but he found a way past the Foxes stopper two minutes before the break when he headed in a pinpoint Matt O’Riley corner. Chances were few and far between after the restart, although Yates continued his impressive performance when he kept out late efforts from Nicolas Santos Clase and Steven Sessegnon." The win saw Steve Wigley’s lads move up to seventh.

Chances created 6 plus 1 assist.

Fulham 0 Chelsea 2 (U18s) Keeper Ashby-Hammond was outstanding and kept the lads in the game. It looked as though it was going to end up 0-0 but 5 minutes from the end Chelsea got the break and finished the game with their second in injury time. The team was: T. Ashby-Hammond; S. Sessegnon, Jenz, Garrido, Felix; O'Riley, York (De Havilland 45'); Pearce (Elstone 80'), Harris, Thoersteinsson; Santos-Classe (Kelly 45') Unused subs: Lukwata and Spence However, revenge was gained on the other pitch. Fulham 2 Chelsea 1 (U16s) Great comeback from the youngsters after being one down at half time.
West Ham 2 Fulham 2 (U18s) The lads let a two goal lead slip away today, although a tad unlucky to concede the equaliser in the last minute. Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson got our first and the second was an o.g. The team was: T. Ashby-Hammond; S. Sessegnon, Jenz, Garrido, Felix; York, O'Riley (De Haviland 79'); Harris (Asare 46'), Santos-Clase (Elstone 79'), Thorsteinsson; Pearce
Interesting Article on Brentford scrapping their U18 set up to concentrate on a B-team. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/scotland/38178077 Basically their model is now to go for Premier League U18 rejects and put them in a B-Team with the incentive to a quick route to the first team.

Fulham 2 Swansea 0 (U18s) Cassian Thomas came in for his first start of the season in a game that saw two second half goals in the second half within 3 minutes give the lads a comfortable win. The scorers were Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson (72 mins) and Jaydon Harris (75 mins). And the team: L. Ashby-Hammond; S. Sessegnon, Jenz, Garrido, Felix; Thomas, O'Riley (Elstone 53'), Kelly; Thorsteinsson, Pearce (Santos-Clase 78'), Harris Unused subs: Lukwata, York and Asare
Matt was number 8 and played the full 90 minutes.. provided the assist for Jayden... Think it was Chris Kelly who was replaced by Elstone Dont know what team sheet was given but someone else also got this wrong ;-)
Oops, you can probably blame me D. Pleased to get your update though 'cos I was a tad concerned that Matt had maybe got injured.
Definitely not your fault..the team sheets that were given out had them with the wrong numbers and thats what was picked up..good news was ...they won!!
Fulham 3 Mansfield 1 (FA Youth Cup - 3rd Round) The lads emulated the first team with their dominance and like them took a while to sew the game up - mixture of bad luck and great saves from the oppo's goalie. Cassian Thomas kept his place, Ryan De Havilland got a start and Marlon Fossey brought his U23 experience, but no Matt ! The team was: T. Ashby-Hammond; Fossey, Jenz, Garrido, S. Sessegnon; Harris (Asare 84'), Thomas; Felix (Kwietniewski 51'), De Havilland, Thorsteinsson; Elstone Unused subs: Lukwata, Pearce, Opoku "Steve Wigley’s side almost went in front inside 30 seconds at Motspur Park. Joe Felix curled a ball down the right flank to Elstone who beat his man and cut the ball back from the byline, but Jayden Harris’ low shot was hacked off the line. Three minutes later a good run down the right flank from Marlon Fossey ended with him finding Elstone, whose strike was comfortably saved by Xavier Sundby. Steven Sessegnon then embarked on a dazzling run that saw him waltz beyond half the Mansfield side, but his shot at the end of it was well kept out by Sundby, who denied the Fulham left-back once again 10 minutes later. Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson and Harris then went close, but it was the Stags who made the breakthrough. A ball over the top released Zayn Hakeem and he squared to Blake who couldn’t miss from close range. Felix must have thought he’d equalised shortly before half-time when he met a cross sweetly at the far post with a flying volley, but the impressive Sundby came out on top once again with a strong-handed save. Fulham flew out of the blocks after the restart and were level inside two minutes courtesy of some excellent play by Michael Elstone. He picked the ball up midway inside his own half, sprinted the length of the pitch, then fired in a left-footed strike which took a deflection to wrong-foot Sundby. In the 56th minute Sessegnon rifled in a dipping shot which needed to be spooned behind by Sundby, and shortly after substitute Mikolaj Kwietniewski – who was making his first first appearance following a spell on the sidelines – sent an effort narrowly over his crossbar. Just after the hour mark Elstone put his team in front for the first time. Fossey’s free-kick was met by Jenz only for Sundby to pull off a wonderful reaction stop. The ball looked as though it may have crossed the line anyway, but Michel Elstone made sure after Mansfield failed to clear the danger. Sessegnon was then foiled by Sundby for a third time as the ‘keeper got fingertips to his rasping strike, before Moritz Jenz added his name to the scoresheet with a glancing header from Fossey’s free-kick. Thorsteinsson then tested with Sundby with a free-kick of his own, and the goalkeeper got away with one after spilling the set-piece, with Sessegnon then concluding a twisty run with a shot over on the angle. Ryan De Havilland almost added a fourth in stoppage time when he cracked a rising strike against the angle of post and crossbar." The lads travel up to Middlesbrough for the 4th round
Fulham 0 Reading 3 (U18s) The penalty hoodoo strikes again. Today's team was: T. Ashby-Hammond; Felix, S. Sessegnon, Garrido, Mundle-Smith; Elstone, Thomas, Asare (Spence 46'), Pearce (Martin 46'); O'Riley; Harris (Santos Clase 46') Unused subs: Lukwata and Kelly [In case you were wondering, the half time sub was Dan Martin] "A tentative start from both sides saw clear cut chances few and far between. However, Reading enjoyed large sways of possession and eventually broke the deadlock in the 27th minute. Experiencing some joy down the right flank, Teddy Howe cut in from the right wing and placed a shot into the bottom left hand corner past Taye Ashby-Hammond to take the early lead. Reading were close to doubling their lead just before half-time when a short back pass from Michael Elstone evaded Ashby-Hammond in the Fulham net but the Reading striker could not make the most of the opportunity and put his shot into the side netting. Mark Pembridge shook things up at half-time and made three changes and the Whites had an early opporunity to level after Steven Sessegnon was felled in the box. Matt O'Riley was unable to convert the spot kick and the Fulham paid the price ten minutes later. The Royals experiencing more joy down the right flank, when the goal scorer Howe laid it on a platter for Cameron Green to side foot home from close range. Fulham continued to press and Esltone went close on three occasions before the encounter was put beyond doubt with 5 minutes to go."
