    <peacedove> When Peter Crouch scored they said it was a scissor kick. Emre Can scored yesterday they called it bicycle kick.
    Are you aware of any other type of kicks.

    The bicycle kick is used to kick a ball above standing head height. It involves flipping the feet up in the air, swinging the kicking leg up and away from the other leg, striking the ball so that it goes behind the kicker.

    The scissors kick is a way of kicking a ball at waist or chest height, usually by leaping up in the air with the legs apart like the open scissors, trailing the striking leg and then snapping the leg forward like closing the scissors, striking the ball VERY hard.

    Back to original question:. Just watched a replay of the goal and thought back to this question. My verdict: His kick was half way between a scissor and a bicycle kick.
