Chelsea in the summer transfer battle for Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, according to reports in Italy.

The Croatian has been heavily linked with a move away from the San Siro for some time now and his agent, Miroslav Bicanic, recently revealed he has £43.3m release-clause in his new contract.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea have been keeping tabs on the 24-year-old this season, while he has been linked with Liverpool and Tottenham in the past.

But, according to Tutto Mercato, Monaco have now entered the race for Brozovic this summer.

The French club have enjoyed a brilliant season so far - reaching the Champions Leaguequarter-finals and climbing to the top of Ligue 1.

Monaco's success has led to many of the team's top stars emerging as transfer targets for Europe's elite clubs and they are expected to lose several key players in the summer.

As a result, manager Leonardo Jardim is already looking at replacements and Brozovic is a name he has placed high on his shopping list.
