Really? He's been alright but nothing more than an average CB for a team that sat back for 90 mins and just headed and kicked it away. Maybe a move to better club will help him up his game, but for a guy with one year left on his contract and only one half decent year in Prem, that's a shed load of cash.
You don't half talk some ****e at times mate. He's had 2 seasons in the PL for a start off. Came through Uniteds academy, has represented England for the last 5 years at 4 different levels including the first team. He's one of the highest rated young CB's in the PL and in the current market £25m is not OTT. Pickford, Keane, Klaasen with Sandro and Onyekuru to likely to be confirmed on Monday, a good window for us so far, and there'll be more to follow.
Tad sensitive there on a prospective everton signing. Prices will remain to be seen but he is a little pricy looking at historical trends. So far in this window maybe it's not OTT as Harry Maguire is going for 17m and Ake looks like he's going for 20m. However, 25m is a lot for someone in the final year of his contract (see Spurs nabbed wanyama for 11m). He is highly rated and he looks to be fine for a team that doesn't leave their defence to exposed. Like with most defenders who are moving up, we will see how he performs in a side that is more expansive, although i'm sure he'll do fine as Koeman doesn't really leave his teams exposed.
yep, that is pricey and i will be fuming. I don't agree with spending that much on lukaku but it's not like i have Romans ear
Whereas I suppose £40m for a Chelsea reject who they sold for £12m a year ago is a bargain in the land of kopite
So do you expect all these signings will make you improve on last season, or are you paying a massive premium just to protect your gap to 7th 8th place team? edit: forgot you weren't even 6th you were 7th FFS
I forgot representing England at under 17,18,21 and 1 appearance in a no mark friendly meant was an outstandingly cb. Can't even get in ahead of Cahill, smalling, jobes and stones, of which only 1 has had a half decent season! Not saying he won't be good in a few years, but at the moment he's a very average English cb who you're paying about £15m too much (especially as he's in final year of contract
Pickford and Keane will improve our defence. Klaasen offers goals and creativity from midfield, and there'll be more arriving. We're obviously seeking to improve and close the gap on those above us.
What a load of tripe Very average? His stats were better than Matip the Wuuuurrrllld class RS last season..... You should be more concerned about paying £40m for a player who Chelsea blew out for £12m last summer love x
Yeah so like I say you'll protect yourselves from challenges from Southampton and Bournemouth, but overtake any of the top 6? No chance.
