Started the season with no expectations, nothing as changed. Some on here, and in the real world (not just Liverpool fans), have got carried away with our start. Much like Man Utd fans getting carried away with their recent form against relegation fodder teams. Chelsea will have a blip at some point, it remains to be seen how they cope with it. One thing I'm certain of and I've maintained that stance throughout, Liverpool won't be top of the pile come May. Never claimed otherwise.
Same could be said for Chelsea, everyone thought top 4 would be a terrific season and the same could be said for liverpool. However having gone into the season so strong and seen how your team can perform, you must feel that it would be disappointing not to take advantage and win it considering that 3 of the managers are in their first and arguably 'transition' season even if that wasn't your aim at the beginning of the season. I know i would be disappointed
The thing is, Costa is on top form and has been a major part of Chelsea's success thus far. However, if he does go no amount of money will guarantee his replacement scoring the goals which will keep Chelsea where they are at the moment. This could really **** Chelsea up as far as the title is concerned
If we had our first team players fully fit from now until may yes I agree would be disappointing. But we don't have the squad that yourselves utd city and arsenal have and can cope with losses. We are building a team for the future and signs look good. Unfortunately when we lose 3 or 4 key first team players our backup is not a good enough standard and our formeeting goes Pete tong. Doesn't look like we will just throw money around either so at this point I'm just hopeful of top 4.
I'm not sure our squad is stronger. at a push maybe a little bit but i wouldn't say they were head and shoulders Can, Sturridge, Origi, Klavan, Moreno, Sahko (if he wasn't feuding) We have Willian, Michy, Terry, Cesc, Ivanovic. Who i would say are regular replacements. Terry Ivan are passed it totally. Moreno is the only joke in your rotation. Cesc and Sturridge and possibly Origi are the pick of the bunch. I wouldn't say our squad is particular strong. We both have some good young players to come through though. Also agree that you are missing a few players recently
player for player mingolet v courtois? no contest courtois Clyne v aspi? Aspi all day Milner v alonso? hmmmm.. alosnso is a bit slow. milner is very effective at lb Matip v Luiz. Matip. Cahill v lovren. can we agree both are poor enough really Henderson v kante. Kante Wijnaldum v matci. Matic Lallana v wellllll... its moses so its lallana all day coutinho v hazard. close one but for me coutinho is a hard worker Firmino v costa (well ha ha) it wuold have been costa Mane v pedro/// close one but pedro is the beeter footballer so its be chelsea just better first team but subs begovic v karius... no contest here begovic all day willian v sturrdige. i'd have willian any day Miki v origi. at this point origi needs to wake the **** up. call it a tie Terry v klavan. i'd have terry still, klavan makes errors. terry might work in a 3. fabregas v can.... come on all day its fabregas. can's gone backwards ivanovic v lucas... reality check.. both are done for anyone v moerno... if you've a brain dead player to name here name him but chances are he's better than our fool so... no cheslea have a far better outfit than LFc and all the pressure is on them..
Liverpool and Southampton may be poised to conduct business this month following reports Saints captain Jose Fonte could head to Anfield, while the south-coast club are said to be eyeing Mamadou Sakho as a Virgil van Dijk replacement. According to Steve Stammers and Tom Hopkinson of the Mirror, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is chasing a January move for Fonte and could utilise outcast Sakho as a makeweight in the transfer. Fonte is already understood to be seeking a departure and has handed in a transfer request at St. Mary's Stadium, while Liverpool have a strong record of snapping up Southampton talents for their own gain in recent years. The Portugal international won UEFA Euro 2016 last summer but has fallen out of Saints manager Claude Puel's plans this season following a contract dispute. Fonte missed Saturday's trip to Burnley on Saturday, and Puel informed the media his reasoning behind the decision earlier this week: The situation for Jose is the same for the moment," Puel said at a press conference on Thursday. I don't comment of course on the situation of different possibilities with different clubs, but for the moment we stay with the same consideration about the situation. I prefer for the moment staying (with) Jose out of the team, to leave him the opportunity to study different solutions for him and for us to stay focused about all the players who are available to start in the team. A raft of Southampton alumni have made the move from St. Mary's to Merseyside in recent years, including Adam Lallana, Nathaniel Clyne, Sadio Mane and Dejan Lovren—all of whom remain at Anfield and are valued Liverpool staff. ESPN's Richard Jolly commented on Fonte not being the only Euro 2016 star to be experiencing troubles at club level this season, with West Ham United's Dimitri Payet also in a dispute with his employers: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...atest-rumours-on-jose-fonte-and-mamadou-sakho
How much is fonte valued at then? Despite the obvious stupid wum comments this will bring don't we value sakho at a £20 mill player. So are saints going to give us cash as well as fonte for Sakho. That's assuming they sell whatever his ruddy name is as well.
Bayern signed Ruddy and Sule from Hoffenhiem. Hoovering up talent from any kind of rival in their league still
Chinese clubs can now only play 3 foreign players and max of 5 in squad from next season. Might restrict the numbers going over there. People say it's a threat to Prem but if they continue to only have quotas then won't be too much of one
They will also be going for players 27 up who want a last big earner of a contract, can't see the Chinese wanting youngsters to develop.
Aston Villa left-back Aly Cissokho is set for a medical ahead of a loan move to Olympiakos, according to Mercato365
Great news from the Echo: Liverpool have no interest in Jose Fonte. He's not a target and they won't be signing a centre-back this month #LFC
