Thought I'd start it off a bit earlier this season so that we can get some good discussion going before it all kicks off. Who needs to come in? Who needs to go? What will happen to our signings from last season? Will Sherwood be our boss? It'll all be here. Unlike last season, there looks to be no chance of us getting top 4, so we won't have that to help us get anyone new in, though I do look forward to us buying at least 1 player off the back of a half decent run in the World Cup and then watch as they turn out to be rubbish. Permanent: IN Ben Davies - Swansea - £10m Michel Vorm - Swansea - £2.5m Eric Dier - Sporting Lisbon - £3.9m DeAndre Yedlin - Seattle Sounders - £2.7m Federico Fazio - Sevilla - £8m Benjamin Stambouli - Montpellier - £4.7m OUT Darren McQueen - Ipswich Town - Free Heurelho Gomes - Released - Free Giancarlo Gallifuoco - Released - Free Cameron Lancaster - Released - Free Roman Michael-Percil - Released - Free Jonathan Miles - Released - Free Kevin Stewart - Released - Free Lawrence Vigouroux - Released - Free Jake Livermore - Hull City - £7m Laste Dombaxe - Released - Free Liam Priestley - Released - Free Kane Vincent-Young - Released - Free Gylfi Sigurdsson - Swansea - £8m Iago Falque - Genoa - £4m Michael Dawson - Hull - £6m Souleymane Coulibaly - Bari - unknown Jonathan Obika - Swindon Town - unknown Zeki Fryers - Crystal Palace - £3m Sandro - QPR - £10m Loans: IN - Returns Benoit Assou-Ekotto - back from QPR Tom Carroll - back from QPR Yago Falque - back from Rayo Vallecano Jake Livermore - back from Hull IN - New Out - New Grant Hall - Birmingham Grant Ward - Chicago Fire (till December) Alex Pritchard - Brentford Kenny McEvoy - Peterborough United Shaq Coulthirst - Southend United Jordan Archer - Northampton Town (till January) DeAndre Yedlin - Seattle Sounders Tom Carroll - Swansea City Ryan Fredericks - Middlesbrough Tomislav Gomelt - Bari Lewis Holtby - Hamburg
Hopefully Roos laptop hasn't crashed as otherwise we could be in trouble without his long list of reliable twitter sources, leaving us to guess whats legit (or bs) before the signings happen (if any).
I think we can make an educated guess that Pritchard, Carroll and Holtby will be returning from their loans. BAE, on the other hand...
Gomes will go when his contract expires and Friedel's now 282-years-old, so we'll need a new back-up keeper. That's assuming that Lloris stays or we'll need two keepers. Assou-Ekotto will almost certainly leave and Rose clearly isn't good enough to be a regular starter, so we'll need a new left-back. Other than that, everything's pretty much up for debate, I think.
Out: Gomes, Friedel, Naughton, Kaboul, Benny, Livermore, Dembele, Sigurdsson, Ade. In: backup 'keeper, Richards, Caulker, Davies, Cigarini and Kiessling. If you add in the Defoe money in I reckon it's doable.
I'm going to put one out there that I don't expect to be very popular - Ashley Cole on a free. please log in to view this image
What I'd like: Outs: Rose, Soldado, Gomes, Friedel (or retain as a player/coach), Paulinho, Gylfi (would be sad to see Gylfi go but I think a move is best for him), Carroll (big fan of his but don't think he'll get a look in). Ins: One of Juan Bernat/ Criscito/ Coentrao, one of Jackson Martinez/ Luis Muriel/ Finnbogason, Caulker if one of our CB's go.
Eurgh, wash your mou-... Ermm fingers off PNP! Isn't Evra on a free in the summer? I'd take him if any of our preferred targets are unobtainable.
If lloris goes as is being suggested in france then I think we should try for the cardiff keeper...he has been very good and he knows the league so wont need to settle. Brad should be kept as a player coach. I think siggy will go...along with either paulinio or sandro. dembele will also go along with capoue, chadli, benny, gomes, naughton, livermore and possibly rose.
Also I'd try for sagna from the goons...cant believe they are going to risk losing him on a free. Very odd as he is their best defender..
I don't see how a 'keeper can do that. There's only 3 of them as it is, it's either playing on another season or going into coaching full time, in my opinion.
