It's funny how things work out with regards to transfers.

The "magnificent 7" were certainly far from their illustrious title but the events that panned out has worked pretty nicely for Spurs.

By this I mean:

Had Paulinho and Capoue been half decent in their time here, chances are Dier would never have been given the opportunity to flourish and show his versatility as a defensive centre mid and we may also never had signed the Kenyan Destroyer of Spaghetti.
Had Chiriches actually been able to defend, the club may not had pulled out all the stops to sign Toby from underneath Soton's noses and we might not have felt the need to scout and then sign Big Kev.
If Soldado scored even a handful of goals then Kane may not have gotten his breakthrough.

And then of the successes, Eriksen and Lamela's current combined values must be around the figure we received for Bale (Eriksen £50m, Lamela £35m) while we doubled our money on Chadli. Turned out well in the end I'd say, especially as our current squad would be worth astronomical figures and yet our net spend was very little.
