Watching the replay, I was wondering if he hadn't fallen over Clark he might not have managed to save it. I think he was extremely lucky not to cost us a goal there.

In all fairness Ritchie was very poor against Sheff Wed and Blackburn, possibly our weakest player.

Shelves coming back into the team seems to have got Ritchie back in form.

 

It could also be because we are strongly linked with Townsend who plays in his exact position!.

 

Shelvey took a player out of the game yesterday as he was being man marked... this gave Ritchie more space.
