Tomlin departs for Cardiff City Thursday, July 13th 2017 Lee Tomlin has completed a move to Cardiff City for an undisclosed fee. The 28-year-old has passed a medical in South Wales, penning a three-year contract at Cardiff City Stadium. Chief executive officer Mark Ashton told bcfc.co.uk: “Since turning his loan deal into a permanent move, it didn’t quite work out for Lee, as he acknowledged publicly. “Everyone at Ashton Gate would like to wish Lee all the very best for the future.” Tomlin made 60 appearances for the club during his loan and permanent spell, scoring 13 times – six of which came during his initial stint. please log in to view this image https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/tomlin-departs-for-cardiff-city/
A shame in many ways, but understandable. If pushed to make a prediction, I reckon he'll start out on fire, impressing everyone and (ahem) certain fans saying what a ridiculous decision it was by LJ and the board to let him go. ...Then he'll start to fade a bit and people start to question whether he's worth a starting place. I'd assume this means Paterson is the current immediate replacement, though perhaps there'll be another signing or two in the works(?)...
I don't rate Johnson but I won't be a moaner until 10 games have elapsed, I might be totally gobsmacked by then..
After 10 games last season, we were all pretty ecstatic! Hopefully we can actually carry it on a bit longer this time round.

Would I be wrong in thinking that he was a problem, or was it down to his relationship with Johnson? I suppose, as always, we will never know the real story behind his departure but in my books it was good business to get rid of a serial dissenter.
He was moved on by B/mouth, M/boro and Bristol City, it will be interesting to see if Warnock can fire him up, if he does watch out, Cardiff will do well.
Must admit, I've never heard about any aggro that he's caused City internally, though that's not to say it hasn't happened, as Stockhausen has implied. I actually backed up Tomlin many months back when the rumours of a rift between him and LJ began. At the time I'm certain there was no major issue, it was around the time that we moved into the new changing rooms under the West Stand, and I know a certain Mr Flint kicked off about where he would be placed in the dressing room (i.e. which peg).
I heard a nasty story regarding Tomlin. Rate him as a player, bit of a **** as a person. Which we all knew.
I think this is good business for all concerned to be honest. No doubt though in 4-6 months if things aren't going well again it will all be LJs fault for letting Tomlin go......
