So how is Roy going to approach this? Is he going to start with what he feels will be the starting line up for the first game in France?
Ultra high karate kick challenge by Bruno Alves on Kane sees him get a straight red, with Kane still lucky to have a head on his shoulders. Apart from that not an overly inspiring game
Poor first half, Rooney, Kane and Vardy obviously doesn't work in this set-up. Wilshere not playing is ridiculous, he needs game-time. You sometimes wonder if Woy actually has any idea of his opening line-up, please God it's not this one...
Completely agree. What the **** is Roy playing at? Vardy and kane out wide in a diamond. Kane taking the corners. No Wilshire and Milner playing!! Roy's lost it!
It is clear from this game and the previous one that it is pointless playing Vardy out wide, completely ineffectual
Wilshire has made an instant improvement. He must start and we should scrap this ****ing diamond formation. All this attacking flare at his disposal and Hodgson is threatening to **** it up.
I've never understood why it is that a succession of England managers select players on the basis of their form for their clubs, playing a certain role in a certain system, then play them completely out of position in an alien system. I appreciate that players have to learn to adapt to different ways of playing, but surely you have to put a formation out that plays to the strengths of the players.
He's looked better of late. I'm not convinced kane should play in this formation. I really hope Roy isn't playing people out of position just to please Rooney. He can play behind kane. It ain't rocket science.
