I also agree its not needed - we're a civilised bunch and most visitors to the board from other clubs are the same. Any that cast aspersions on our club or players are dealt with speedily with our customary wit and wisdom and are soon put back in their place. Re the "header" Syd mentions. I've looked at the other boards and some of them are quite cool. I like the idea of it but worry it may be too unfulhamish for us?
Yes, I had something old in mind. Perhaps the crest and a black and white picture of the cottage? (I say this but I have absolutley no idea how you create one of these things)
No need for mod unless someone wants to be it. for a pic, I imagine there are some cool Europa League final type ones?
Heres an Idea to deal with things getting out of hand Let Moderators on all the boards issue Red cards to WUMs and these can be shown in Achievements so as to warn these people have annoyed and disrupted other boards. If they get 3 Red cards on a particular clubs board they get banned automatically from that board till the moderator deems fit. I know, it sounds like an PC ASBO so I won't give up my day job..... I agree at the moment we don't seem to need a Moderator...but I'm sure that will change in time. If things do go bad, I'd be willing to Moderate...but would really need more info, and also think it a good idea if it had to happen, that there are about 3 different chosen, to spread the load and not have a dictatorship (Come the revolution ). But maybe a system as above would help.
I am already willing to put forward my name to be a part of the Holy Trinity. Maybe I could be the young representative?
I am young only by the Mark Hughes definition of the word but unfortunately have this wretched job thing which means I don't have as much time for messageboards as I would like!
I emailed cyprussydsafc this morning because of that Spuds w@nk, Random96, posting on our Dembele thread. I asked whether a moderator would would have the power to ban WUMs like that guy from posting on our board.
I emailed cyprussydsafc this morning because of that Spuds w..., Random96, posting on our Dembele thread. I asked whether a moderator would would have the power to ban WUMs like that guy from posting on our board. Still not completely clear. For the most part, I agree we don't need a moderator. But I wanted to check before things got out of hand.
Re red card. Each mod can give warnings, delete threads or comments on their boards and ask me to ban a user from their board. All the mods work together so for example you have a problem with a spurs fan, if you ask him to back off you are a Fulham fan and a **** to him. If you talk to the spurs mods and they ask they are on the same side so listen. We have very little problem and most users back off when asked. TBH I have read through randoms comments on that thread and dont see a problem, he is giving his opinion, no abuse and certainly would not be banned for that.
After reading his -Random92- first post I thought he was a complete WUM. However he did actually provide some genuinely good points throughout the discussion. I think he just worded his first post without reading it back and it came through as being a bit 'we are too good for you'. To clarify he has now apologised
The reason I was asking for a red card solution (in message No:25) to be put into the Achievements column was that posters on the clubs forum they enter could see that this person had a history of disrupting message-boards and ignore their posts rather than take the bait. Usually if they get ignored they go away. Not that I'm trying to stop friendly banter, just the annoying bitter WUM.
think random is being slightly over abused. i dont think he was deliberately winding up, he just grossly overestimated his own players and underestimated Moussa.
I gave Random a bit of stick and he took it exceptionally well, and went on to be complimentary of us and our board. If you think what he said was bad, take a look at the United/Pool/City boards - what a joke they are.
