10 point advantage. Spurs had a game in hand at 13 points and won it. 10 points was the true gap. Now 4 if Spurs win tonight. If. Personally I think we will drop enough points for Spurs to be able to win it, but I expect at least a couple of games where they will drop points as well. They are on a very good run but I suspect pressure will tell in the end and a draw or 2 at least will come along. Hopefully it starts tonight Spurs realistically have to win all their games and only really Hull at home on the last day is one where you'd say that is a banker. Spurs are better at home and only have 2 home games left, against United and the Arse. NLD this week is massive, The joy Arsenal will get if they derail your title charge.
Sensible measured post. We have played before Spurs for first time in ages. Let's see how they react to pressure. If we win on Sunday v Everton, we could see an APochalyptic meltdown from Alli etc v Arsenal etc afterwards
Indeed, 100 Years Of Parking The Bus. That's "small club mentality" for you. Gooners will take more pleasure in derailing our title challenge than they will in winning the FA Cup. You might scoff at that, but I take it as a massive compliment.
Not sure they'd rather beat you in a one off game than win the FA cup but I get the sentiment. Perhaps one of the biggest NLD in years with Spurs going for the title and Arsenal desperately trying to get back in the top 4. I'm hoping Arsenal win tonight. Need a confident Arsenal turning up on Sunday A draw will be fine.
Boro I think could also be relegated by time we play them Monday week, which could be handy as well... Their game tonight is huge for them.
Wouldn't mind Arsenal sneaking into top 4. Ultimately we all want Wenger to stay! If Arsenal sneak it at the expense of United and Pool, I could certainly live with it
Mathematically, yes. But to put things in perspective ... Assume Chelsky get a return of W3/D2 from their remaining games. Then to win the PL, Spurs must get W6. That would equal the 13 game winning run you had in the 1st half of the season. A big ask in itself, but even more so when two of those 6 are also fighting for a CL slot, and one other may need to win to escape relegation on the last day.
Yeah, I'd accept that, provided we finish above them. I think all neutrals would love to see a St Arsehole's Day, this year.
Indeed, RDBD. This is why it is important that we finish second, at least. This will prevent the gurning wumsters who are lining up to mock and jeer, from coming out with all of that "coming third/fourth in a two horse race" bollocks.
