    You know what? You might be onto something there. Pouchy said everyone from Scotland is a **** (tho he denies it). The proof is in the pudding though.If he's talking about people from north of the wall then I know at least one **** from there who wears that cap well!!!

    I believe the foundations of building the wall have already been prepared
    just got to run the planning permission past the Roman Council and everything is good to go
    1 or 2 of the Scots aren't happy and say they will oppose any building on a green field site

    A lot of misconceived ideas exist in relation to Hadrian's Wall.

    Foremost among those misconceptions is that the Wall was built to keep the Scots out. Just think where the Wall was actually built. It was because the Romans were frightened of the Northumbrians not the Scots. It was built essentially because the Romans could handle the Makems but not their more northern kin, the Northumbrians.and Geordies (although in fairness the term Geordies did come about later)

    Just think the Romans could beat most of the known World at that time but we Geordies and Northumbrians were too much for them.

    I've done a lot of research on this and I thought it was because the Romans reached Sunderland, realised how good their football team was back then and so built the wall to keep everyone else from the North from taking their place in the stands, so they could watch all the home games without being locked out of the stadium.
