Is anybody else slightly/really disappointed that nobody wears fezzes anymore? It could have been our thing. Years from now when there's no Egyptians at the club, people would be like "Why do Hull City fans wear fezzes?" Somebody start it again.
You can get them on Amazon but not in the correct colours. people from outside the city even now wouldn't know why we were wearing them. Wonder if the club shop could get a stock in of the correct colours That's probably the most positive response I've given to any of your postings TWF
I thought something had happened to my mate Fez!! At our age and all that, I nearly got me black armband out.
I think the fact that nobody knows why we wore them made it better in a way. It was our interesting little quirk, because if we're brutally honest, our fan base is a little boring...
5 words and it just makes me smile thinking bout him. I was cleaning the loft out with the wife yesterday, mucky dusty and full of cobwebs-- but she's good with the kids...........
let's be honest Chazz we are all in decline once we get past 30, as by that point any dreams we had have been shattered into a million pieces. that's why we all (I mean the men) support a club, be it rugby league, cricket or football - as it is the only place where we can feel young and have impossible dreams which aren't laughed at by the usual suspects (the wife or girlfriend or both - if we are being greedy), like the club qualifying for Europe
Isn't the Egyptian version a tarboosh? Fez being the Turkish name? I think some Egyptians, especially muslims, find it offensive, Nasser outlawed it as it symbolised the uncivilised man.
I believe the modern fez is actually Moroccan, Muslims wrapped it in a turban and as you say, it was banned during the modernisation of Turkey(where I go and never see one) .

The answer to the question I posed on here a few months back which did not elicit a response. " Which King predicted that in the future there would only be 5 Kings in the world. The King of clubs, the King of diamonds, the King of hearts, the King of spades and the King of England?"
Was T.C. a closet City fan ? And I don't mean Cairney
