I don't like Clara. And I agree the show has been awful since Capaldi took over. Clara is hot but a bit vapid. Not convinced by the part or the actress. She'd be better off modeling rather than acting.

Might start watching again now they have a new Doctor.

 

Americans are no more sexist than the British. I don't think it will lose audience because of that. Quite the opposite, I think it will open it to more female fans.

Most doctor who fans in the US are women anyway. You don't find many male who fans in the US for some reason.

 

New Starbuck was better than the original. New BSG for that matter was better than the original... For first 2 seasons at least. It quickly got crap after that.

 

You have no ill will against women. But won't watch a show you've been watching since you were 7 for the sole reason that they cast a woman.

 

Always know it will be a crap episode if there are Darleks or Cybermen in them.

I don't recall one good Cyberman or Darlek episode in the last decade. They should can them for good. They're both too campy for modern tv.

 

Worst Torchwood episode. Proving Cyberman = crap show.

No ,for the sole reason that they changed the main characters gender.
Like I said, if they relaunched Buffy the Vampire Slayer and made him a dude, it would be equally ****ing stupid.

The whole "Time Lords are gender fluid" was introduced a couple of years ago by Moffat.
It hasnt always been a thing.

It's also never been said they couldn't before. Doctor Who is constantly writing new rules to their show that didn't exist before... Or loopholes.


There's also never been a timelord changing race. Yet you said you'd be ok with a black man playing the Doctor (just not a woman... Which there is precendent for now).

90% of Doctor Who episodes end with silly Deus ex machina endings. I don't see why it's so hard to accept a change they hadn't had before now.

It's not like the show has always stuck to rules anyway. It makes them and breaks them as it goes along and always has.

 

1. i don't know it was bettr or worse. the original was fine. it was also an a-team cross over thing which was fun.

2. BCS was good. very good for about... oh 3/4 of the first season. they quickly quickly ran out of ideas and steam. The whole premise of human cylons hidding in the population was "ok" but only form the point of view of a trojan horse effect. after that it got so ****ing bad it just ruined what could have been huge... it went nowhere.

 

It was the whole pseudo religious crap that made me start hating the show.

 

Yup. Tbf the original ran out of ideas too by second season lol.

Since Thrones is over soon..i want the next Dr to be ....Peter Dinklage....be fecking awesome, tick the BBC PC boxes.

 

In all fairness, Dinklage would make an awesome Doctor...

it'd be like the Canon lore suggested it went so badly wrong with this woman thing that the next iteration lost a bit of material somewhere and he comes out tiny.
