I've not actually seen that, I assume it's bad based upon your comment.

Well it was, the first episode was extremely grim, but its something people should watch. Its an important subject matter that deserves attention. With something like this you supposed to feel uncomfortable and disgusted so that society can stop this **** happening again (and stop what is still happening)
Well written, well acted and all together excellently put together.

And as grim as it is you have to remember this is a watered down version that's acceptable for TV, the reality is probably way way worse. And I think if they'd have picked the Rotherham case it would have been too much for TV.

All true, not so sure I want to watch it though. Watched Little Boy Blue and that was very sad so I'm just not up to another one at the moment.

Watched Mr Holmes. Very good depiction of the classic detective in his final years. 7.2/10

Watched Suicide Squad today, christ DC need to ditch this current run of films and start again. Better than BvS but still way off MCU.
Wish someone would tell DC about lights, too ****ing dark again (the actual lighting not the story). Story was a bit of a mess and totally uneven in terms of characters, too focused on Will Smith and Robbie (even her arse hanging out for half the film couldn't save it) and frankly they weren't good enough to carry a weak story. Will Smith's Deadshot is just so ****ing boring.

They keep pushing ahead with these DC film and they're not getting any better, going to be a point where people just stop going to watch them if they can't improve.
    5/10 (at best)

    I threw it on too.

    Thoughts.

    1. The bint in work who boasted she and her hubby brought her 7 year old daughter to it... wants shooting.

    2. It was pretty dull. It had potential, half decent storys mixed in but will smith.. dull... most others bar harley dull... or in fact very dull.

You are right it prodded along, it didn't have a shocker or any sort of building to a crescendo... I think still the dirty dozen sells this concept in a movie but this lot failed.

The film just seems to be misplaced, like its come at the wrong time in the series of films.

They're introducing a load of villains and giving them a film before they've even really started with the DC heroes. I mean most of these characters will be completely new to the wider audience, its hard to care or even get them if you haven't seen them in relation to their hero protagonist.

Then of course there was all the usual problems with a DC film, too dark, boring story, lack of substance etc etc.

Think where DC are going wrong is that their characters really are better suited to TV, where a long story can be told and the character can be developed.

I really don't know. The whole dc thing is confused.

Theres no rhyme nor reason to the films

Look at wonder woman coming out now when the character was in the bat man v superman debacle.

The fact they replaced a great bat man with bloody Affleck, might as well got will Ferrell... how could it be good.

I thought the suicide squad characters are premise ok, they just failed to build the team.

Take the Aussie bank robber, supposedly a brownie freak and loner yet he just never ever acts that way. It's too odd

Watched the end of The Get Down, could have been truly great but money has killed it, it needed that huge budget and the cuts were terrible putting cartoons in to fill the story.
Still better than a lot of TV out there and I will continue to watch it but an opportunity lost by Netflix to put a brilliant series out there.
