Was bored so had a look around for comments about Diame, but came across this on Rafa and it looks like they've sussed him out: http://www.nufc-forum.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=58793.15 all these comments are correct, that division is about pace, power and attacking. With the squad they've got they should be swatting teams aside but he's the most defensive manager I've ever seen, everything is caution first*. Just look at how Napoli improved ridiculously when he left, their fans celebrated in the streets after he quit! Big, big game for them this week... * I know some say that about Bruce but he takes it to another level.
Two games in and he's a write off? I'd suggest waiting a few weeks and revising the above. He's astute enough to adapt and I think he will do really well.
Maybe he's lost his touch. But he's certainly had some success as a manager. We had a win and a draw in our first two games in the Championship last season and it still wasnt enough for some. So best turn it around quick Rafa.
The irony being despite Benitez winning Champions Leagues and managing Real Bruce would actually be the better manager for them in the Championship
I just wanted to make sure so you wouldn't pull one of your "Read the post again that's not what I meant" schticks. To suggest Benitez is a terrible manager in the context of the Championship is a laughably bad assessment.
1) I wasn't talking about the context of the Championship. Why do you always - always - add something in that wasn't mentioned? 2) for someone who doesn't want to get into petty, boring, repetitive arguments with me where I supposedly always have to have the last word all the time you don't half reply to my post a lot. If it bothers you that much why don't you just ignore what I post? It really would be the obvious solution rather than the next 3 inevitable pages of back and forth name calling. Before you get on your high horse in about 15 posts time, let's not forget - it's you who chose to reply to me.
Benitez was not a terrible appointment for Newcastle. He is not a terrible appointment for Newcastle. He is not a terrible manager. He is currently managing in the Championship in case you didn't know, that's why I added that context. I wasn't adding context to your comment, I was clarifying the competition he is currently managing in.
I was absolutely convinced Rafa wouldn't go to Newcastle. Syd said he would. I was wrong LOL IMHO to write him off after 2 games is too early. It takes time to adjust to the Championship. I've no idea if it'll work longer term but they should have the squad for it. Leeds are likely to have had 3 managers by the end of the season.
I haven't written him off after 2 games, I wrote him off the day they appointed him pointing out Newcastle fans would soon be bored rigid by his ultra defensive tactics. He was absolutely terrible at Inter. He was terrible at Napoli - their fans held parties in the streets when he left. He was terrible at Real Madrid. There are worse managers in the Championship. That's why I never said he was terrible in the context of the Championship. I 100% believe there is not a single club in the Premier League who would do better with him as their manager than their current incumbent.
Sorry I wasn't specifically talking about you bummers just in general. On TalkSport last week they were talking about them going undefeated all season then this week its a club in melt down. I have to admit I find it mildly amusing considering how they always bang on about being such a "big" club.
