Match Day Thread The Duncan Donuts is a dirty great jinx Villa thread

Come Tuesday night we will face Villa, a side currently in the bottom half of the table so there's hope! Alex Neil seemingly hasn't a clue what he's doing so team predictions are a lottery. Villa fans seemingly have not got the not606 bug so I had a wee visit to the pre-match thread on Villatalk, to see how they are feeling about the match. There is a range of confidence levels, but here are a selected few:

We've got a good recent record against Norwich City,Unfortunately they have so I'm hoping that continues. It probably will! I think they're a good traditional club and they play a good attacking brand of football which is easy on the eye. Clearly not watched us recently, maybe for 4 years? Fingers crossed it should be a great spectacle Unlikely unless they are brilliant, especially as it's on tv

One of the 3 or 4 most difficult games of the season...Another who hasn't seen much of us of late and one where we could be up against it. If we perform though we could win, A parapelegic school girls XI could so Villa have every chance realistically though a draw would be a good result imo. The way things are going for us at the moment it would be good for us too, another point closer to safety.
Bring it on. Do we have too?

I have a feeling that our current set up could really prosper against better teams. I quite fancy us to win this on a series of counter attacks.

We haven't scored a single counter attacking goal all season. Then along came Norwich! That's not to say we won't, just to say.
This game is mahoosive. You could say they all are, but with the opportunity to go 6th for the first time there for the taking, Norwich in free fall with a defence that leaks like a sieve, we won't find many better opportunities to take a 'big' scalp. This dude has definitely seen us play!
This game could be the making of us. Win this and we won't look back again, IMO Steady on chap, we are not the toughest of nuts you'll need to crack.

Gotta say it again, we haven't won a match that was televised since February 6th.Then along came Norwich It would be nice to see Villa win more than one match this season. Please win.

That was last season's game against Norwich, which we won 2 nil. Gabby scored too! My confidence is draining by the second!

We need to start winning away . 2 away wins in 18 months is quite frankly ridiculous. Along came Norwich

So what am I predicting for tomorrow night? I'm gonna go for City 1 - 3 Villa. A vote of confidence from the board before losing to Huddersfield on friday and the P45 being brandished on Saturday. Then the scouring of Europe can begin.

It's hard to be positive the way we have been playing and recent results. Our home record isn't bad and with Howson and Pinto fit, Nelson scoring who knows we may get a result?

 

If Kodjia and Adomah play well for them, our defence could well have a torrid evening - then there's Gestede and / or McCormack to use if need be.
I have a bad feeling about this, something like a 1-2 for example

 

So all feeling pretty positive that we'll lose then. I'd love to see a win, but not 'holding my breath ' on it.

 

Didn't McCormick get sent off recently? Has he served his ban?

If he plays he will no doubt score one of his rare goals since he moved to Villa!

 

I expect us to raise our game tomorrow (not that difficult I know) and force a creditable draw from the Villains.

I can't believe I am writing this - I should be saying "we'll kick their asses" but I know that is highly unlikely and a battling draw will be seen as a "good" result.

 

We are going to get so battered.....

Remember, we recently 'only' lost 1 - 0 away to Derby and compared to certain recent results, some people could see 'positives' in keeping the scoreline down and not getting mullered!

assured him his job isn't on the line in next two games. Will upload soon.

Assuming this is the truth, why am I not surprised.
How far down the league(s) must he take us before they
actually realise something is fundamentally wrong at pitch level?

 

Isn't outward criticism of players by a manager however justified symptomatic of the end?
If they dont put in a performance tomorrow, he must be on borrowed time.

 

He talks to the players quite regularly???????
Why did he wait until half time to change things when he could see it wasn't working??
