Great result let's hope we can keep this recovery going. After 7 games without a win, I am not getting too excited. Perhaps there has been some changing room politics which have been settled?
Well it is just a single win after a poor run, but it could hardly been more impressive. 5 goals, a comfortable clean sheet, Howson and Pinto back and making a big difference as Pritchard, Brady and Jacob were also brilliant, as were both CBs who commanded their area. On Whoscored, Pritchard rated a perfect 10. I've never seen that before. Other ratings: Jacob 9.2, Brady 9.1, Oliveira 8.4, Howson 7.9, Dorrans 7.8, Bassong 7.8, Pinto 7.5, Naismith 7.3, Bennett 7.3, Ruddy 7.3. Again, the best I've ever seen for City. The key now is to build on that!
I will be watching the Channel 5 thing tonight for the first time. 10 for Pritchard you say Rick ? Brilliant .
We're now back into the top 6 places, with a better GD than any others in the play-off places. Newcastle lost again and Brighton were held to a draw by Cardiff. Need to keep it going against Barnsley, but at last there's hope again.
Well that was a lot better. Is it just coincidence that Howson & Pinto were back in the team, Martin & Hoolahan didn't play, Howson was captain, whilst Martin's leadership skills were not needed, Pritchard was finally given a proper chance in the team, we played with square pegs in square holes, we played our game and got at them playing free flowing attacking football. Maybe AN has finally started to learn from his mistakes.
That's certainly true, Canario and playing away will make it tougher, but it just depends on whether we can build on this and move on.
If you could put a tad less effort in next time it would be appreciated We enjoy groping and clutching at straws to see what the flook is going on - but (ironically) it seems to be working!
My first match day thread this season . A. First clean sheet in 15 B. 5 goals C. A great attacking display Coincidence ? Yes
Rubbish! I think your closet coaching skills are actually starting to permeate that dense Bellfield skull in the dugout - keep it going, dude
