    the fofrmation back in the days were 2(full backs l/r) 3 half backs /wing backs(left, centre, right.) and wait for it yes 5 forwards 2 wingers an inside right an insid left and a centre forward those were the days of course only old bastards like me will remember.

    First Leeds centre back pairing I can remember was Chris Fairclough and Chris Whyte - by no means great players, but quite a formidable partnership!!

    Paul Madley was Jack Charltons stand in, and Madeley actually stood in for anyone as he was a Rolls Royce utility player. We had Greenhof, White, Bellfit ...think the question should have read recognised predominant center half

    I really didn't want Karanka but when Pardew shot to the top of the list he doesn't seem so bad.

    You're probably right, but why not just announce it, get him his assistant in and start planning for next season instead of all this ****ing about. Got to say, if it happens, I'm never convinced about a no. 2 stepping up.
