Karanka is being linked with Alaves in Spain. Although there’s been no claim of actual contact, Karanka is from Alava so it would make sense.

Has Karanka turned Leeds United down?

It’s possible, that would explain the club briefing no interest now, rather than earlier.

There could have also been a mutual lessening of interest, or all assumptions were way off and there was never a shred of interest, with the latter seeming least likely now.

Seems the club are being very clever and doing things in the background and announcing only when deals get done. Fair play to them, but we love rumor and guys who say they are ITK. I always thought Karanka wasn't on the list because we don't have the cash he would want for players and his wages yet. I also have a theory that all the foreign managers who got promotion from championship were given a big war chest.

So for me Radz will have done homework and looked at what it takes to do it on a certain budget, and which manager characteristics did it? Pearson, Pardew, Macarthy, Dyche, Big Sam, Eddie Howe, Hodgson, Adkins, Brown, Grayson, Hughton, Pulis ..... I think we are going British. I also think we are going for a coach not manager as we have Orta now as DoF

 

I think we are saving money ala cellino by not having a manager in place whilst other clubs will be acquiring targets.

Agreed mate so I think it will be a manager along the lines of Karl Robinson a young guy with pedigree who given the tools could do it. If you look at his career he had a lot more about him than Grayson for example. Liverpool Academy coach then went to Blackburn as coach before going as assistant to Paul Ince at MK Dons. Takes over gets them to 5th in L1 before winning promotion to the championship ....... he left them of his own free will. Think I would be happy with him as he was the youngest league manager at 29 but obviously didnt have a club with cash
