Pontus permanent? http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/01/2...ds-jansson-says-he-is-finally-a-permanent-pl/
I'll wait till it's on the OS or sky sports ticker. Bit surprised someone as PR savvy as Radz didn't think to have him sign on the pitch after the Forest win. Bit cheesy but I'm willing to bet the crowd there might have got behind it, particularly as we've done nothing so far this window.
May well prove to be one of the best signings we've made for many years, certainly one of the most influential
There are a few players now being embraced by the fans in a way that we haven't seen for a while - Pontus is the obvious one, but the likes of Viera, Bridcutt and Bartley and even Roofe are all held in a special regard by a large section of the fanbase too. I think this partly explains some of the returning fans - they feel that the core of the side are Leeds, not just passing through / journeymen. Monk is shrewd enough to encourage the concept at every opportunity, and build on the Leeds against the world mentality, and fair play. Certainly I've seen more players willing to put their bodies in the way this season, hope Pontus is just the first if it's true.
my player of the season too, Wood second as he has scored goals despite taking **** from the fans early doors
A lot of the NN reports are saying that the 4 year contract commences in July. He remain on loan for the time being. Can only assume that it's designed to save us money, to get maximum value out of the loan fee we paid. Or something like that. Personally, I'd have done some horse trading to make sure he signed now for so many reasons.
Also might be cos we couldn't find the 3.5m required at this time to make it permanent or want to use the few bob we have elsewhere on the squad
I'd say Ayling and Bartley have performed better than Pontus, be he is a must sign player as they all work well together
I'd agree with that. Jansson takes the shine off himself by getting caught on the ball on occasion, just like Bamba did. My worry is that the 'superstar' accolades might just go to his head. Fingers crossed they don't, as he's a splendid acquisition.
We've seen it before when we sign a loanee who's impressed and they turn out to be awful. I just don't see Jansson being that kind of player. What you see is what you get with him I think, he is a great signing. He does need to calm down and stop playing to the crowd at times though.
